this was one of the ideas being considered to get added
now my questions to you guys are these
would you like to see new scope variants as well as other scopes being added to weapons missing them
secondly would you like to see it in the next iteration of dust or would you be willing to wait so something else could be worked on
third should scopes affect the weapon other then just having possibly better zoom fidelity such as the sway that the SR has this could mean that longer range scopes while possibly increasing the weapons long range capability it would decrease the medium short range capability as well as giving scopes or no scope to increase the weapons short to mid range ability
the last thing would be the consideration of either having moduler weapons being able to add attachments at the possible cost of higher cpu and pg such as silencers, suppressors, longer barrels, spread reducers such as shotgun and other chokes, ect
this would make it so that every weapon would be able to be modified to the users preference and allow for a single template to be used for all the weapons variants, however this would probably take a lot of work and it may be easier to simply allow different variants of each weapon with static attachments
personally I like the moduler weapon Idea better but I find it easier to simply add in the different variants or allow a simple toggle button to add/remove the scope
now I ask these questions to see if this is something that has high demand and if so what the general consensus is as to how and when it should be implemented so that hopefully we can make a push to make this happen with the next major update

because it can be and if we ask for it we will even if only eventually will get it, this isn't something that should be hard to agree on like many other issues can be so if the community as a whole agrees on a general idea then we can make a push to get it implemented for now just gathering the details so that someone can make a pitch and or start a petition to get this added
CPM involvement could help out with this and represent us like they are supposed to, if the community voiced by CPM members gets this to be at least considered we could possibly see it soon and it may add more possibilities depending on which idea we end up agreeing upon

Either your high or delusional, have you seen some of the awesome ideas backed by the whole community that have gone ignored over the years? Thread after thread, post after post, of the same things. Excellent things too, where are they?
Did you realize, at the loading screen some times, it shows all the icons that are supposed to be used in the game? Like the vehicle indicator icons for the maps? There is a heavy air unit, a medium vehicle, and a "command node" that has never even been used.
You do realize that we only have 2 different MCC's in a game with 4 factions? Not to mention the vehicles too.
Putting all that aside, they can't fix the majorities problems with lag. They can't remove he galente lag facility map, I'm genuinely under the impression they don't know how, since more the half the community whine and moan about that map and beg them to remove it from rotation.
I could go on, I really could, but my point is you shouldn't really expect to make an impact on CCP, they don't care about us that much.

You can see any enemy perfectly fine with the default iron sights or scope the guns come with when they are at the range of the weapon. Why would you want a scope that zooms to allow you to see enemies you cannot even hit with your gun or have their hand fill the entire scope when they are at optimal weapon damage range?
Plus, if you like scopes there are weapons with them already, choose those. If you like iron sights choose the guns with iron sights... |

You... you did read the title and first post of the page right?
It's just a thought about what I would like to see implemented. Personally if I could have iron sights for every gun I would be happy, I like those the best. But some people can aim better with a scope.
You do understand the kind of magnification 1x and 3.5x will give right? 6 to 8x can be used for longer ranged guns, even if not most guns still hit at optimal damage for that magnification too.
This is a theoretical and hypothetical discussion about scopes on guns, I still choose the ones we have to my liking, I assure you.

Lol, yes I read the original post. Forgive me for thinking I could give an opinion that opposes yours or that of the OP. I did not realize only people supporting your view were allowed to post.
I could be completely wrong here but I don't think the current sniper rifles even have an 8x zoom so why would that be needed on any other weapon? |

Honestly, I quite like the idea of having a standardized weapon template with power core modules that allow you to choose which tier it is, and also having components to customize it.
Basically, a similar idea someone had to power cores on dropsuits.
On one hand it would take some time to add in to the game, but on the other hand it would greatly clean up the clutter that currently exists.
This would make Dust 2.0 a very big game changer.

I just want a toggle thingy so I can choose if my duvolle assault rifle has a scope when I spawn in. The sights get all the flare from the firing and sometimes it makes me miss.
