Why wasn't one of these threads made to come to a unanimous decision on how to properly fix the ScR instead of what we received from the latest patch notes? Add this with the the additional RoF bonus the Gal Assault gets and some how I feel like burst to semi automatic fire AR's with damage mods are going to be the apparent new flavor of (insert time here).
I'm not mad at the changes as much as I am that there wasn't any community feedback to offer insight on both arguments.

The changes are being placed so the AR stands a chance and the scrambler much more balanced. The ScR needed the nerf honestly.

Maybe because a unanimous decision would be impossible? Too many people have a vested interest in keeping the the status quo, too many people would cry like disgusting newborn humans... Too much rabble rabble, not enough constructive dialogue.
Or maybe I'm just underestimating the communities capacity to be constructive, impartial, and mature... Who knows. It's not like we were given the opportunity to "shine" in a CPM feedback thread over SCRs.

On this subject yes I do think you underestimate the community's ability to work with each other as its really not as a difficult matter to decide on as say vehicles and their propose roles.

There are still people who genuinely believe the scrambler wasnt overpowered. So no, hes not underestimating anything. |

I've been an avid user of this weapon since its birth and have seen many others like me who have put the time and isk into mastering the weapon I just don't think it's right to ignore the opinions of the well informed sane users just because of the radical elitist.

I Used it yesterday again ( on my gal scout) for a bit but I can say it won't be that great anymore on anything besides amarr assault. I mean you have framerate drops and lag which all affects the SCR a lot. Like the SG.. On most games I get blueshields nowadays

Well the good thing is they seem to be having trouble applying the kick multiplier. This is great news as that was the part that made it a ridiculous over nerf.
A range weapon that has terrible accuracy makes very little sense.
I still firmly believe that this nerf is being done all wrong but whatever CCP gonna CCP.

Community-sourced feedback has, in the past, been shown to be able to rise above vested interests and all the sh*t posting they make. We've been able to make real changes to the game that have carried majority support. Except with vehicles of course, that crap has a half-life that will outlast the life-span of this planet, but oh well.
So yeah, I'm a bit miffed that the scram was never offered up for discussion. Those of you who read anything I write on the matter know that I have my own ideas on why the scram is op and how we can fix it so that it's fun and balanced for all players, and not just the beast-mode that it currently is for amassaults only. I feel as thought the CPM dropped the ball on this and should have pushed for some sort of dialogue with the community. If certain topics are deemed too toxic to engage us all with then what's the point of electing representatives at all?

The SCR argument has been discussed in and out through unofficial means. Contrary to some beliefs, I agree with Vicious. Those unofficial threads has shown that the discussion wouldn't have been reasonable in the matter of cohesive, unbiased opinions. SCR discussions often become black and white. The users defend it to no end and the shield based players do the same. There is no common ground in the discussion.

I've got a buddy who just started playing Amarr and using the ScR. Watching his basic ScR melt kids was kind of infuriating, being that my AR is at the adv. level and even in any variant the ScR out performs. I didn't know the state of rifles when I started playing Gallente, but if I had, there's a good chance I would have considered Caldari or Amarr first. Their rifles are just better right now and it's evident in combat.
Why don't we experience the hot fix proposed changes and then make judgements? We can theorycraft all day, but how it really fits in along with all the other combat mechanics is yet to be know. |

You do realize that CCP / CPM reads -unofficial- threads on feedback as well, correct?
Perhaps they got all the opinions / information / suggestions they needed via the usual conversation and simply did not see the need to have yet another thread discussing it.
Honestly I don't think the nerfs will be as crippling as some claim, and I've been using the ScR / AScR since I started this game. (I finally jumped into this game specifically because they added this weapon in)

Unanimous decisions never happen on the DUST forum. Further, the final decision on what will happen rests solely in the hands of the devs. The process is: we the players provide feedback then the devs decide what they are going to do.
Despite the democratic process of electing the CPM, actual game desig n decisions are not a democracy.

Caldari rifles arent as good as most people seem to think imo, and especially after the ARR takes a range nerf in next hotfix, both of them will be pretty trashy. |
