I tell my friend about DUST but its irrelevant cause my friend is XBOX fan. So the only people i know, as far as knowing someone on the internet & never meeting IRL, that play are obviously people that i play with & are on good terms with, as far as that can go anyway.
Or is it too late/waste of time? In a perfect world with a perfect DUST or Legion, then would you introduce you're friend?
Either way I would i think. If you've already done so they still here?

Anyways I was reading the first few pages of the thread I linked, felt I little sad honestly. Looking at the names of people who no longer play, seeing how pumped up Saberwing was on the secret work(Legion) and how we had so much to look forward to at the time...

I'd never tell a friend to play dust, especially in its current state. I ******* joined when ads skill stacking was a problem and blaster turrets had a ******* sniper dot for a reticle. Such bs nyan san stomps so long ago.
A friend in rl got me to play dust. I had no knowledge of it before hand. Because of him convincing me to make a matari character, without even bothering to tell me about the others, I am FOREVER doomed to live out my dust career as a filthy minmatar.
Funny part is he was amarr fatty so he tricked me into being his dirty ******* slave. I have chosen freedom with my will, the gallente way !
Worst part is he ******* quit 13 months ago. Here I am a year and a half or more later, addicted to this game. Waiting for for the next fix aka hotfix aka FOXFOUR OMG!!!

I tried and failed.. I will do it when Dust will be on another platform. The game is good, but the bugs/glitches/lags are keeping away any new players.

Meanwhile, in a weird twist of fate, several months back while at a party I got into a conversation with a couple folks I've known for a while. When our conversation turned to gaming and I told them I had been playing DUST both replied, "No ****? Me too!"
Neither stuck through the hotfix rollercoasters.

Not that dust is unplayable, noob v noob or Vet v Vet, it can be lot of fun.
Just that there is no protection form the ever increasing SP gap. As soon as theyare done with the academy, they are in for far too much grief.

I would absolutely talk up Dust 514 on the PS4 on the day it hopefully happens.
As it is right now, I just talk about the fun I've had despite its state and my hopes for its future.

I would introduce a friend to Dust 514.
I would also go into detail about how development is incredibly slow. That would segue nicely into the PS3's hardware and software limitations that are currently restricting Dust's development. Finally, I would reaffirm that Dust does not currently have any port plans, nor has CCP been open with communication on that topic.
If they still want to play Dust after that then it's on them.
Ripley Riley is on safari until Oct 9th. I will represent him until he returns.

I've tried, they had the same gripes as people who reviewed the game in beta e.g wonky hit detection etc.

My friends comment how they see me on the gamne quite often and ask how it is. I try to get them to play but after a few weeks they get culled from the herd. Proto running causes people to get insta blapped often. That's the reason I've been suggesting a meta mode with only Basic suits, modules, and weapons to militia grade allowing people to play more based on the players actual skills and passive skills. Something like that would protect newberries far better than the academy and allow players a break from proto and officer spam. |

I mean I try to introduce people to this game all the time. Almost all of them tell me they don't have a PS3 though.
On a related note, not one has heard of DUST 514, but lots of them have heard of EVE online.
