I'm the butt-end of Dust jokes all the time with my buds. I'll tell them its like making fun of a **** victim. They say "no, a real **** victim would have more interesting stories."
Edit: **** is censored? OK fine, "violent seduction" then. Or "surprise sex" if you prefer. You get the point.

I use to recruit people from my stream and squad up with them just to see epic rage quits and that was before matchmaking and officer spam.
Now if anything I avoid even talking about Dust when gaming comes up.

In fact I have plenty of times. Some stay, some don't. Whether or not they stay is on them, not you.
There's plenty of reasons to stay and play dust. The issues and having a play in fixing them is one of them! I play the forums to do just that! There's the CPM, and CCP devs that listen to you here on the forums even if they don't always respond!
There's the progression of dust, and the hope that the game does get ported so as to reach its full potential! There's many different ways to play, wars, espionage, and this concept is still the strongest out bar none!
No developer has done what CCP has done regardless of all our tears here in the forums, and we know that! For that reason alone I would encourage players to stay. Option 2 is quitting to go play vanilla shooters like COD....

I brought a friend along with me when I started playing. At first he kinda lost interest but saw I got into a Corp and we had PC battles scheduled. He saw the rewards and also the fun we had just playing together as a corp, so he gave it another try.
I got him to spend 9.99 to get LR2 so I could trade him and he could trade with the world (this both helps the game and hurts it) then I gave him some isk. I directed him as to where to sink SP because he said he had no idea what it all meant. And neither did I at the start, I wasted SP on other faction gun skill ups and random accessories before I realized the fastest way to become effective in Dust is to specialize in a role first.
So he's been playing and enjoys it now because he understands how build a fit properly, has some isk, and is skilling into the right areas. Those three things alone made his game a different experience. Oh and his account was 2 years old but never used so he had 21mil SP to play with off the bat. Right up to proto, fun for him but expensive.
Dust is deep and new players need to understand why they should do certain things and how to do them before they can really enjoy the game without frustration or confusion. |

PARKOUR PRACTIONER wrote:I tell my friend about DUST but its irrelevant cause my friend is XBOX fan. So the only people i know, as far as knowing someone on the internet & never meeting IRL, that play are obviously people that i play with & are on good terms with, as far as that can go anyway.
Or is it too late/waste of time? In a perfect world with a perfect DUST or Legion, then would you introduce you're friend?
Either way I would i think. If you've already done so they still here?
I would definitely tell people if Dust made it to ps4. I wouldn't invite someone to Dust no more than I would tell someone to buy a ps3 for the first time now.

DUST is like the disgusting bad habits I have that I do when I'm alone.
I don't talk about it.

I used to recommend people to this game and give them some pointers on what to expect when first starting out.
After today though I will never again recommend anyone to play this game. There is too much ******** to deal with in this game. |
