Well I read some of the posts, but here is the informed response.
Freedoms: You will have all the we have and more. example if your kids don't speak English we will teach them for free, once you get in on a visa no need to keep registering, you can get a driver lic without proving citizenship, you can vote, yes vote. it has bee ruled against the law to require people to prove citizen ship to vote. Police are not allowed to ask if you are a US citizen.
Free stuff: lots of it. free medical while USA citizens need to pay (careful though sometimes you never get to see a doctor only his assistant and they sometime are performing part of the surgery also), free food, free rent help and if you can lie really well money for emergency's all from your local gov't.
Get involved in expats and then you will have protection from any random discrimination and they will help you get more benifits.
Now places to live: stay out of ca, mi, nc, sc, fl, bread basket states, why you ask. natural disasters, to many social problems oh and keep away from Detroit they have high crime and are in bk.
Drugs you can get anyplace, some state weed is legal and yea you need a med excuse, but really all you got to say is "my back hurts" unlimited weed. Oh and then their are laws that say you can't have drugs on you, but you can be drugged out and it is ok.
lots of places to see, caveat emtor parks are underfunded so if you are doing stupid stuff you might not get the help you need on time.
Travel is pretty much open unless it is by plane or you go near anything that homeland thinks is theirs like dams, bridges, power plants, etc then you can be arrested just for taking pictures and held for upto 10 days without an attorney or family notification. But the good thing is that if you break the law you get a free attorney.
Universities are way to expensive and don't teach ****. you will have trouble understanding the professor since he/she will be from another country, but that is only when you have a professor, most of the time you only get an aid or a recording.
I think you said you don't like alt sexual orientation, well that is a problem here for you. all other non-heteral get special status and will rally around a like minded person if you have the misfortune of offending one and heaven forbid that you get into a drunken altercation. That is what we here in the USA call a hate crime and you get double sentence and forever marked as a social misfit who is a cave man.

Yea, unfortunately his post on food is correct. We here believe we are being told the truth about what we eat, but it is a lie. without be labeled a radical true hugger, anyone who really believes they know what is done to their food is living in a fantasy world.
Lets just take a normal hamburger patty at your average grocery store or fast food place. It contains meat, connective tissue, sinew, stabilizers, binders, fat, small chips of bone, red food color, a host of chemicals. Now why all of this stuff? The USDA allows meat processors to self regulate ( kinda of like the Iran nuclear deal) and they are profit orientated and so they don't follow proper procedures and the meat is constantly contaminated but lucky for us the don't have to through it out anymore because everything is now processed with radiation and chemicals to kill off anything (true look it up) the wash the hamburger in a vat of chlorine and then hydogenperoxid and then they have to put red die into it because it is all white now.
For those Americans that don't believe me, please look it up before you respond.

Well tax is another issue.
Ya gotta pay the IRS for any income made here, period! They will not accept you paying UK taxes for US income.

For those Americans that don't believe me, please look it up before you respond. This is exactly the case yes and just another lovely tidbit of the whole picture. There is a reason that the EU is not interested in a lot of the food products from the USA and i am more than fair in worrying about it. I mean, if standards are that low, how will i know that the high quality stuff i am buying is REALLY high quality?. The way them companies operate is exactly why we have a lot of regulations in the UK and EU, it's to stop bad persons exploiting good people but it still happens.
Yea we just had the CEO, pres, vp of the #1 producer of peanuts in the USA sentenced for forging reports and tests and purposely misleading peanut butter companies about the safety of their products because somewhere around 20+ people died last year. 1st time execs are being charged with murder.

any ways it gives you another prospective to consider in your decision. you could come and visit, try it out and see for yourself. One thing you will find rather fast here as in most 2nd world countries, is that the more money you have the better things are. oops don't carry too much money on you across state lines, because if you have cash in excess of 2k and get stopped the police will confiscate it as suspicious behavior and not give it back.
also taking our large sums of cash or putting it into your bank account also gets you in trouble most times.
