So if anyone hasn't noticed shield based lav's are terrible, there practically a coffin with wheels . 600sh 450am Seriously who came up with the numbers. You cannot take a single hit from any kinda Av, now before you start saying why are you going around In a unfitted lav ba. The simply answer I don't because it is just plain suicide. Now to compete with Amor based we need more shield, its that simple I'm not asking for a miracle just some balancing Maybe something like 1200sh 350am
Do you agree? If so please comment or like this post (not a like farm lol)

are you kidding me? have you got a saga-II?
you can't complain that a low level vehicle has low stats, upgrade it and voila! the stats increase
my saga is not fully upgraded and has 1919 shield with a builtin module to deflect 60% of shield damage, it's untouchable when that's on.

You're complaining that the basic LAV has to little base HP.
Basic LAV is purely transport. You want some buffer and health on it?
Skill into it, get the Saga-II and put some modules on it.
We changed the LAV's to make skilling into the more effective, and to reduce the viability of cheap LAV's.

Ok then what about dropships, they are purely transport so why do they have double the hp of a lav

Lol at people defending the current LAVs. These are probably the same numbskulls that petitioned to get them nerfed so hard because a heavy stepped out and touched them inappropriately and they were too bitter to consider using a swarm or much less AV grenades to kill it.
LAVs are a joke now. There's no point to fitting them at all, even the Saga II. There are literally no combat capable fits and they're essentially a wasted asset. Of course I don't want to bring back the days of LLAVs with tank-like ehp, but to say LAVs are 'fine' is asinine.
To appease everyone, I'd suggest bringing back Scout LAVs, but make them more combat ready: more health, weapon bonuses (turret rotation speed, range/missile velocity), and their old acceleration bonuses. This way, there are expensive usable light ATTACK vehicles, not disposable heavy taxis.
Dust is there! I was real!

mmmmmmmmmm, you're all saying you want more hp in lav's, cause they are too easy to destroy, well funny how i've taken on many the last week that my swarms hit (PROTO swarms, prof5, damage mods being used) and it will take TWO reloads to take it out, for those of you who cannot count thats 9 volleys of missiles to destroy it, and yes they all hit, i'm talking about stationary lav's, so they appear to be too powerful now, again, or some enterprising **** has worked out a glitch, ADS are easier to kill than the saga these days so well done, very well done (sarcasm)

We changed the LAV's to make skilling into the more effective, and to reduce the viability of cheap LAV's. No amount of skill points can make LAVs better, (Saga-II) is the exception. My vehicle character can barely fit any buffer on a LAV, I think LAVs need a small buff but not the saga-II

This is another itchy (but not serious issue to get worked up about) example of a device in Dust being designed to operate in a way that is boldly different from what fps players conventionally use this "type" for. The LAV is not the classic fps-jeep in our other games. It's NOT intended to be an engagement-vehicle like an HAV or DS.
It was intended (still is...) to use SPEED to run a arc-course around one side of the map and still reach a destination faster than it would take a foot player who's running a straight path to the target. The speed is what's supposed to enable it to AVIOD getting a hit (something the HAV can't do, if it tried traveling to the target), and speed again is supposed to enable it to ESCAPE more effectively (than a DS could when it comes under attack).
But that's all. NO front-door combat-jeep antics. NO real assault intentions (at least not all by itself, alone).
In the earlier months of game release, players seemed to understand and use the LAV superbly---and there were a good handful of interesting vehicle mods that were useless on large vehicles, but seemed tailor-made to give LAVs (by giving them the essential 10% or 15% ehp or velocity boost to survive the incidental splash damage from some shnook who thought she could score a direct hit. But NO Lav -driver back then ever drove carelessly enough right down main-streets to get a full-load of pie in their face. (Not the way we see today's players tending to drive them...)
The Devs are still trying to get that idea into our minds, by referring to this vehicle with "Recon" terminology in their descriptions and Loadout variants.
The Baloch is the one that's more willing to trade SOME of its speed for a tad more safety, but... the object with LAVs is "stay off of Main St and Hollywood Blvd---you're supposed to skirt the map and arc in on your target so quickly from a side-alley that Sheriff Dobey couldn't bring his guns on you quick enough.

LOL my CEO and I used a saga and a particle accelerator to kill an adv rail tank. They can be combat viable but it takes a bit of skills and good driving and combat skills.

Fit modules to your vehicles. Even the best fits with proto mods and lvl4 fitting skills only bring them to what they were unfitted pre-nerf.
Go to protofits and link me one viable LAV fit.

What he's saying is when you put a mlt baloch next to a mlt saga the stats aren't balanced at all. An mlt armor lav can take at least 1 mlt plc hit. A shield lav cant even take 1 hit without instantly dying. At least buff the shield so they can survive 1 unskilled mlt plasma cannon shot. |
