Yea I think it is ridiculous you can completely wipe out enemy links and redline them all with the help a piece of equipment that allows everyone on the team to have wall hacks.... when I see bad stomps there is always a gal logi present...
also what is the point of ewar between suits when one piece of equipment can completely disregard the light frame/medium frame/heavy frame ewar hierarchy

I don't know how much can be done to fix scanners and ewar without removing them.
For start I'd like to see scanners in a different way.
Like this : now, scan for x seconds / cd for x seconds and you are free
In my eyes (how it should be) : to scan you need to hold the scanner while it is sending pulses and once they end (pulses) your scanner goes on cooldown (no x seconds of scan after scanning)

I'm pretty sure I made a thread about balancing or nerfing scanners as well as all the good players did.

All it takes 1 gall logi to force the whole team to dampen or bring out scanners of their own. 1 guy with 1 piece of equipment can change the tide of battle....
what is the point of ewar between suits if all it takes is one guy with one piece of equipment to completely make your ewar investments obsolete...
of course gal/cal scouts are just chilling with 1 damp avoiding scans wile every other suit has to have 2 to 5 to get under gal scans..... I need to sacrifice 4 low slots on my assault in order to defeat that guys one piece of equipment....
although I am perma scanned, just know this.... I will have enough hives and cores to blast the enemy to hell with me lol

Well, how about you stroll through the map about 6 times and get shotgunned in the back. It's pretty darn annoying, I personally only scan when there are too many scout out on the field.
Not to mention scouts usually have good passives, so not being seen and being able to see your enemy almost all the time, you could say isn't really all that fare if I'm not able to stop your bs :D
Another way to look at it, when half the enemy team are running scouts and your guys are getting torn to pieces before they even have a fair chance to fight back, what's the one thing you can do against it?
ALLLSSSOOOOO, given the limited intellect of the average blueberry, scans are some times the only way to get them on track and faced in the right direction >.>;

What if deployed equipment was given the damp stats of the person that dropped them, if that damp stat is under the normal threshold that equipment current has?
In that case, special scanners that are meant to only search out equipment is an option too.

If the entire enemy team is facing one direction then your options for flanking are greatly expanded. The only way flanking would be any easier would be if they were in a circle facing each other.

No, Gallogis w/scans don't see their counters OR any frames that are actually flanking them effectively. Effectively being not rushing them in their direction they're facing and calling it "flanking".

Pick and choose dude. Double back and then around or cut super wide or maybe don't approach more than one individual at a time or use the contours in that open ground or go back and call an LAV or w/e. Truth is you're fighting against a team in the first place so if you're not planning on team-based responses to whatever you're doing you're really doing yourself a disservice.

Scanners really ruin gameplay for me; currently my min scout with 3 complex damps can STILL be scanned by scanners.
Solution: Increase dampening value of complex damps. This would make it viable to run 1 to get under gal logi scans as scout, and 2 as an assault.

I recommend a change in the function of scanners. They should take a lasting snapshot of your position, not follow your position for several seconds.

The way it is meant to be is that scans is the counter to infantry, scouts are the counter to scans. If you don't want to be scanned, use dampeners. No one uses dampeners on assaults, I tried 3 and got scanned. Scanners are fine where they are, after all if we want a real change we must suggest something that requires little work because this is CCP we are talking about here....changing the dampeners' values would give you 2 choices of either lose the ability of stealth for your tank, or vice-versa.
It would benefit solo play the most by far, and encourage players in gal logi squads to run assault-logi since the only real threat to assaults are heavy suits or dampened scouts. It won't be a scout-514 since we don't have E-war but it will be an efficient and easy fix.
