Yes, the ps3 has its limits I understand that.
What I can't understand is the amount of broke, whiny, smack-talking idiots who show up in every thread.
You've all seen them. "I've never spent a dime on dust, and never will till X is fixed.." "I used to buy aur, then the servers got laggy so I stopped." And my personal fave. "I hate this game, I'll never spend anything on it, you are all stupid" yet they show up in every thread, and pubs all day.
We are already paying for internet, what's 20$ a month to help make this game better? I pump in 20$ a week.. You know there's a skin you want. You know you want to triple stack boosters. Do it. Throw some money at this FREE game you play all week.
I know, some of you are too young to have disposable income. But with all the deep voices I hear daily, there's no excuse for CCP to be running a skeleton crew. Dust is the ultimate sandbox: If we don't care enough to support it, we won't have it.
You want racial parity? Cough up some cash. You want new maps? Money talks. You want a bugfix pass? Pay the Piper. You want complex events? Roll out the dough.
I've spent far more than I wish to remember on this experience. Same for a few people I know. You're welcome. Now quit being a scrooge and pay the man, see if dust gets better. Or keep being a tighta$$, and good luck finding your dust fix once the lights are out.
TL:DR Talk is cheap, manhours are not. Want something good for dust? Buy some aur. js
Off to the drugstore to buy a psn card and get my weekly dust fix o7

Some of us paid CCP during closed beta, and then open beta, and then through release. The fanfestastrophe happened and our wallets went away.
I don't believe CCP has earned my money since then, so I pay them nothing. As long as the game looks to die with the ps3, that won't change.
CCP did it to themselves by lying to the player base and their recent cash grab while dropping staff levels has not convinced me they are serious about improving the game.

Is that the extent of your response?
So in your opinion I should keep giving CCP money(above and beyond the hundreds I already spent) even though the game is in decline, has no future, and still has problems that likely won't be resolved before the game get killed?
Why?
Those of us who paid to get into the closed beta back in 2012, threw money at CCP during 2013, and only stopped giving them cash after it became clear we had been misled should open up their wallets for CCP why?
Explain to me why you think this game is worth more of my money when it has no staff and no future? I didn't choose to stop development at the start of 2014 to put staff on a vaporware project, CCP did that. Why should I give them more money to not spend on dust development?

Lol, that completely ignored all the people who spent literally years funding development and got a broken piece of garbage in return.

You didn't actually add anything, so that's what you got.
You really think all the people that pulled their support are not responsible for the slow progress we have of late? Hundreds stopped playing/paying, then come to complain (cause none of you really biomassed lol) about how nothing gets added or fixed.
Really? I have to give a lesson in basic eco?

I get your sentiment, and I have pumped in some cash. That being said, what has prevented me from pumping in anymore is the pricing of aurum content, and how expensive it is compared to other games, especially what we get in return.

You want to pay $100 a month on a free game, fine thats up to you.

This isn't a one time payout kind of game. With no subscription model, CCP relies on the trickle.
To fix your analogy: Say I wanted a house remodel, so I pay the material fee. Three weeks in I want different countertops. Then something doesn't look the way I saw it in my head, so I ask them to change it. By now, the cost has risen and the contractors want more. I decide it's not what I had been dreaming and stop paying. Now I'm stuck with subfloors showing, and raw mud walls. Should I be mad at the contractors? Was it my fault?
Come on man, its not rocket surgery.

I believe it's been said in the past that Dust isn't just limited by "manpower" or "money," but rather both the hardware and software as well. The engine they're using isn't optimal for certain things and they don't have a lot of space left to do much more. I mean, my words aren't stone though... but that's what I remember hearing in the past.

And I call bullshit on that. I know people who spent thousands on this game, I myself spent some hundreds, and all we got was a turd and a promise of vaporware on another platform.
That you think we should reward incompetence with more funding shows you have absolutely no understanding of economics.
If CCP wants more money, make a product worth it, instead of misusing the funds people have given you ona PC vaporware project and a mobile game no one asked for.
The game loses income and players because it is bad, and it is bad because CCP wasted money and consumer confidence on a poorly managed team. They then compounded that failure by not being open about what they were working on with our money.
Don't try to blame people being smart consumers for the game being bad and unpopular, that is on CCP.

You didn't fix my analogy, you just decided to posit your own that doesn't work for the situation you are trying to compare to.
The more accurate fixing of my analogy would be:
If you paid an artist to create a painting, they took the money, said they were working on a spectacular new method of painting, then made you wait for six months before presenting you with the vomit cloth while showing you a video of them making a far more attractive painting that looks surprisingly like the one you originally asked them for but they demand more money to finish it.
I wish my business had customers like you. I could promise them the trip, only take them far enough to see the destination, and bring them back while telling them it would cost an extra 10k on top of their original fee and they "might" get to see that polar bear they paid to hunt.

It's not a new product each time. It's the same project we have been invested in since June 2012. I don't expect something different, I just want progress.
The fact that people refuse to pay even a fiver each month, then come here to moan, is literally bitching about what you got for free.
And let's be honest. Since fanfest and the changing of the guard. Rattati has accomplished more with less than the entire cycle before. If we funded this new era better a port could become reality. To each their own. For me, its dust till they pull the plug.
