Yes, the ps3 has its limits I understand that.
What I can't understand is the amount of broke, whiny, smack-talking idiots who show up in every thread.
You've all seen them. "I've never spent a dime on dust, and never will till X is fixed.." "I used to buy aur, then the servers got laggy so I stopped." And my personal fave. "I hate this game, I'll never spend anything on it, you are all stupid" yet they show up in every thread, and pubs all day.
We are already paying for internet, what's 20$ a month to help make this game better? I pump in 20$ a week.. You know there's a skin you want. You know you want to triple stack boosters. Do it. Throw some money at this FREE game you play all week.
I know, some of you are too young to have disposable income. But with all the deep voices I hear daily, there's no excuse for CCP to be running a skeleton crew. Dust is the ultimate sandbox: If we don't care enough to support it, we won't have it.
You want racial parity? Cough up some cash. You want new maps? Money talks. You want a bugfix pass? Pay the Piper. You want complex events? Roll out the dough.
I've spent far more than I wish to remember on this experience. Same for a few people I know. You're welcome. Now quit being a scrooge and pay the man, see if dust gets better. Or keep being a tighta$$, and good luck finding your dust fix once the lights are out.
TL:DR Talk is cheap, manhours are not. Want something good for dust? Buy some aur. js
Off to the drugstore to buy a psn card and get my weekly dust fix o7

I don't believe CCP has earned my money since then, so I pay them nothing. As long as the game looks to die with the ps3, that won't change.
CCP did it to themselves by lying to the player base and their recent cash grab while dropping staff levels has not convinced me they are serious about improving the game.
I would rather invest my money on games that are trying to improve instead of just adding shiny trinkets for mouth breathers and fashionistas.
And out they crawl.

You didn't actually add anything, so that's what you got.
You really think all the people that pulled their support are not responsible for the slow progress we have of late? Hundreds stopped playing/paying, then come to complain (cause none of you really biomassed lol) about how nothing gets added or fixed.
Really? I have to give a lesson in basic eco?

This isn't a one time payout kind of game. With no subscription model, CCP relies on the trickle.
To fix your analogy: Say I wanted a house remodel, so I pay the material fee. Three weeks in I want different countertops. Then something doesn't look the way I saw it in my head, so I ask them to change it. By now, the cost has risen and the contractors want more. I decide it's not what I had been dreaming and stop paying. Now I'm stuck with subfloors showing, and raw mud walls. Should I be mad at the contractors? Was it my fault?
Come on man, its not rocket surgery.

That you think we should reward incompetence with more funding shows you have absolutely no understanding of economics. If CCP wants more money, make a product worth it, instead of misusing the funds people have given you ona PC vaporware project and a mobile game no one asked for. The game loses income and players because it is bad, and it is bad because CCP wasted money and consumer confidence on a poorly managed team. It's not a new product each time. It's the same project we have been invested in since June 2012. I don't expect something different, I just want progress.
The fact that people refuse to pay even a fiver each month, then come here to moan, is literally bitching about what you got for free.
And let's be honest. Since fanfest and the changing of the guard. Rattati has accomplished more with less than the entire cycle before. If we funded this new era better a port could become reality. To each their own. For me, its dust till they pull the plug.

Come on man, its not rocket surgery. You didn't fix my analogy, you just decided to posit your own that doesn't work for the situation you are trying to compare to. The more accurate fixing of my analogy would be: If you paid an artist to create a painting, they took the money, said they were working on a spectacular new method of painting, then made you wait for six months before presenting you with the vomit cloth while showing you a video of them making a far more attractive painting that looks surprisingly like the one you originally asked them for but they demand more money to finish it. I wish my business had customers like you. I could promise them the trip, only take them far enough to see the destination, and bring them back while telling them it would cost an extra 10k on top of their original fee and they "might" get to see that polar bear they paid to hunt.
Have you spent a dime since Rattati took the helm? Can you see how your money might actually make a difference now?
Before, yes. We were limited by the console. (And still are)
Now, he does what he can within the limits. And the limiting factor is money. (Crew come with cash, see manhours)
Can I change your mind? Probably not. Will some read this and throw em five bucks? I sure as hell hope so.

To each their own. For me, its dust till they pull the plug. And again, you are ignoring a fact that is crucial to the matter: Many of the long term players spent a slew of money on this game because of the promises CCP made. The game has been out for more than 30 months, so anyone who paid more than $150 is good on funding, and I paid that BEFORE WE EVEN GOT OUT OF CLOSED BETA. I am certainly not the only one, in fact amongst the people I started playing with I was considered a poor for not investing more. So no, CCP already got years worth of development budget from people like me, and only a fool would throw good morning hey after bad. If CCP wants my money for dust again, I want to see actual improvements in the game, and real progress instead of monetization options and skins. Flatly, I will never spend money on this game until it can run at a stable 30 FPS, and an announcement is made on the future of the game, because I think this game goes in the bin when the ps3 does, and any money spent now is better spent as kindling for a fire, at least then I get something back.
How long has it been since you had a round on dust? Since they did the battle server change I've been running full frame rate, and only stutter in gal facility. I've done all the tuning that's suggested (and then some plus uber network speed) and it barely helped until the last change.
I was maybe buying 20$ a month before then. Now I'm back to weekly because I can actually enjoy battles again. With the Ratman crowdsourcing ideas for a new hotfix I'm looking forward to more improvements now that CPM/fanfest is done and settled.
And yeah, I've been funding this since beta. Seeing as I have been well entertained, I feel it money well spent.

I think I bought 40k of Aurum since then, and there was some particular reason, although it escapes me now. I'm of the opinion that no amount of money will get us to what CCP originally sold this game as, and that is part of why my wallet remains shut. Rattati can polish the data as hard as he likes, but without an announcement of what happens when the ps3 goes under there is literally no point in giving them money, least of all in the hopes of a port. They have had more than a year to produce some results on that front, including soix months of my funding it while I thought I was funding dust. If CCP wants to port dust they can do it on their dime from now on, and if it ever gets released and is not crap, I will reward them for it, but not before that. CCP Shanghai has zero credibility in my eyes, and I strongly advise people to hold their bank until they earn it.
With what I've read, each project funds itself. So if we hope for Dust to port, it needs to be profitable to port it. Meaning holding cash till it ports literally kills the chance of a port.
That's a lot of ports in one sentiment xD

With the Ratman crowdsourcing ideas for a new hotfix I'm looking forward to more improvements now that CPM/fanfest is done and settled. And yeah, I've been funding this since beta. Seeing as I have been well entertained, I feel it money well spent. Played some matches yesterday, memory leak is still around. Still must reset before PC battles, and after a couple of matches of FW game performance goes right in the toilet. Unless you want to play on 420p, at which point I might as well fire up some Battlefront on my old ps2 instead. Tanks still glitch through the large socket if you get there too soon after the start of the match, still fall through the map on Iron delta if you check the map screen in a tank from the ground spawn. Missiles still kill dropship gunners, and of course invisible swarmers are now a thing again. Don't even get me started on the lag facility, that it is still in the rotation is a criminal development mistake. So yeah, the game isn't getting better, and despite the claims of the PS3 not having enough memory, they are still cranking out new skins instead of reducing useless content to try and improve game performance.
Pc and fw are still loaded with crap players that run web tethers to win. I play afw cfw a lot and know the pain. I ring for pc as well and based on who you play, you can guess your level of lag...

ATM dust is the only thing I binge play so I spend here. I'm grown and work for my money. I have a ps4 now but am holding out for Fo4 to get hooked on something else. And will be right back to dust after 2-3 play throughs.

This had better be an alt because you were born: Date of Birth 2015-08-31 12:41, because you never seen closed beta. No real bearing on the thread, but this game has a like 10 guys maybe, that are active and ARE actually closed Beta vets, so please guys stop leaning on that to give your post credibility. This game is not very old at all. Not even three years yet, but everyday on here I see closed "beta vet" or "played for 4+ years". Just make solid arguments and leave the lies/crutches out. Nothing personal at you Press, just pointing out that this has become almost endemic on here.
