How many of you Gallente loyalists would be ok if the the assault rifle got nerfed by 5m range but recieved a nice 2-4 damage points more per level?
What would this do?
1 it will make the assault rifle pretty much Suck at mid ranges
2 it will become a CQC monstrosity
3 it will be envoy to be used with Gallente suits (tanky and fast like they should be)
My personal opinion- Id be completely fine with this. I like cqc. It's my strong point. 1v1. And with my Gallente assault, what better combo could there be? It's the perfect Gallente assault.
Pro- op in CQC, will do a great job against armor and will be like eve blasters that "wreck in close range"
Cons- caldari suits will start to whine BUT they should know that we have less range now.

Not totally but to a certain point, isn't that what the assault rifle should be? And just to make it clear, adding so would make the pro assault rifle do kalante damage without the rof so.... I don't see it boing to much a problem. And the assault rifle is outclassed by like every other rifle at cqc so yeah it should be like so. The ar needs a cqc buff

The ar needs a cqc buff Just add 3 point of damage to the AR, there's no need to make it to where you need to be 5 feet away from the enemy to even hit him, that's what shotguns are for. The range on the AR is fine, there's no need to change it.
I mean, that was my idea but i figured should users would start to complain and stuff so I just added that range nerf in there.
Tbh the ar actually needs like 5m more and around 3 more damage per level to be a cqc King.

Cons- caldari suits will start to whine BUT they should know that we have less range now. I agree with you even though im not a loyalist. My StormTrooper will not complain, giving up range or HP for damage is a reasonable sacrifice. I'd think that 10m nerf would be too much though. Still, what about the BreachAR? Its a monster in CQC & mid-range. The TAC is good for longer range. I'm wondering how the nerf-buff vanilla AR would compete with the Breach.
The other varients are ok imo I wreck with the breach but I like to use all my rifles and I really hate seeing how low performance my vanilla rifle gives in cqc. This post is for vanilla assault rifle only.

Yes but tell me what can be done to make it the best at cqc? I mean, te other option could be to boost its rof from 800 to 900 so that it acts like the kalante and range can stay the same but no one else wants to give an idea or something.
