Bring back 1 to 2 minute Warbage pre game
Let the leavers leave before the match even starts, and keep filling up slots until the game starts. Most people who drop out of a match do so at the very beginning because they're either cowards, or something went wrong with their squad.
Let people troll around in the warbage again before match, and this should help sort things out a bit.
It's already kind of like this in FW and I have yet to see too many people leave in those games, so just extend the warbarge time a bit in all matches and see what happens.
Also since the primary development drive seems to be solely on SKINs, this would help build appeal since people could show off their E Bling more often. (wasn't aware they apparently aren't showing, that's just hilarious) |

That's actually not a bad idea and I can confirm the tendency with FW matches. Two minutes might be a bit long, I think 45s like FW would be fine.
CCP needs to fix the SKINs not showing up in Warbarge though. I need to show off!

It's my belief most people who are leaving are the people in corps who've been here a while and know who to play and not play against. Give Scotty some time to shuffle the pussies out with a squad with nuts or a bunch of solo players.
And it's a viable low hassle to do for CCP option. |

While it does not really help the leaving battle issue it does have potential to make matches far more playable. I think we need the names in chats fixed first tho so people can actually use that time to squad up with solos.

I think this could go in conjunction with another idea someone else had to remove the leave button. Why would someone leave except to turn off the system? Make this a one way street. That is how League of Legends stopped the leavers, they simply put them into a 20 minute time out. So why not fight and end it in 20 minutes.
Summation, give the leavers time to boogy. Then once the leavers are gone, lock everyone in. Hell in a cell style. If you are here, you know what you signed up for.

If you are here, you know what you signed up for. people leave when they get put up against squads or q synced squads of FA, NF, AE etc because their team has a bunch of ****** blues that can't tell the difference of a gun and an ******* if matchmaking was fixed or if squads were removed from pubs alltigether then leaving would be less of an issue.

I really wish people would stop blaming matchmaking. The only problem with match making is our incredibly toxic community that cares more about farming a couple of ISK and protecting their KDR than actually playing the game.

The only problem with match making is our incredibly toxic community that cares more about farming a couple of ISK and protecting their KDR than actually playing the game. I happily fly and drive my tank against full Q synced squads and lose 1-4 million ISK in any given random pubs (woo solo \o/) That said, I don't expect most people to play that way. This game is frustrating and boring enough without trying to force people to play against groups of no life try hards when they have no real support on their team.

Knowing you are going to go broke and not be able to play how you want to play even after winning is a very bad thing for the mentality of others on your team.

The mentality of others on my team is basically the last thing I think about when I play. The Risk / reward of this game has been broken for years, either you live and die by it, or it absolutely doesn't ever apply to you.
I'm poor by rich merc standards, and I still have a long way to go while playing recklessly before I even have to consider refilling the coffers.
There's no point playing it safe in this game. |

So you are telling me the idea is to accept things are broken and instead attempt to keep applying band aids to the negative effects of those broken things and hope we get it all working?

So I don't feel obligated to play by any rules other than my own.

I am not arguing that you are obliged to play by any ones rules at all. I am simply saying don't use your acceptance of a bad situation as justification for that situation to continue.

I really wish people would stop blaming matchmaking. The only problem with match making is our incredibly toxic community that cares more about farming a couple of ISK and protecting their KDR than actually playing the game. I believe that Death Shadow 117 is on to something because it's a common theme of those who reflect .
How can one even believe to think things will get better if they keep on denying the cause to begin with ?
It's the system at hand that allows such behavior , you can't blame the community that are allowed such behavior even though that's toxic as well , you have to have a system of checks and balances in place to curb this poisonous action , so that the behavior will not effect others that don't indulge in such .
It's the basic system of rules and regulations .
You check those who don't care about checks and balances , so that those that do remain that way and not become tainted .
DS117 is clearly reflecting upon the true nature and cause of the circumstances , you can't keep trying to compel people who really don't care in the first place , you have to do something to save those that do if you truly do yourself and that's what CCP is failing to realize , along with those who just want to blame the community as well as deny the issue to begin with .
The people that care will not stoop to the same level , they will just find something less stressful to do and deal with .
Part of the reason why people leave and more people recognize this then admit it .
Attack the problem and the cause can not grow but you must be willing to admit the cause to begin with and that's something that it seems that many are not ready to do yet , so you will still have the same issues until you do .
Teamwork is really important - said the Tyrannosarus Rex from Kung Fury .
