With Combat Rifle and Flaylock: yay or nay?
Trying to decide on which scout to spec. I already tried the CalScout, while really good at being undetected I'm preferring a lower scan precision instead of profile. Wanna hunt those fcking Gallente. My CalAss fit just sucks in maps with "cities" in the middle, I need something fast with red dots all day on radar. Or I could use CalScout with a scanner but it'll get repetitive fast. |

You would be better off in a MinAss with those weapons. You could dampen and add enough speed to compete with the Amarr Scout while retaining a higher HP.
The only thing it would lack is cloaking ability, which is a minor issue at most.

Lol I just specced smart scout for precision. **** what nothi says. Gal logi is good at scanning . Its what he was made for. But so is the amarr scout.
I run it with scr and knives. Precisions hives needle. Slightly damped. , awesome passives, reasonable mobility and hp.
The choice for scans is either passive or active. A gal logi excels at active , but their passive precision will never rival that of the amarr scout. So depending on how you want to hunt the scouts, you should choose accordingly.
Passively scanning a careless scout with damps is easier with am scout than active scanning with a focused on a gal logi. I don't know why people recommended the focused so much. Its as situational as the ******* laser rifle.
While slow to anger and occasionally indecisive, they are also capable of harnessing enormous resolve when truly tested.

Once you have proto Flux scanners, the quantum ones aren't worth the hassle.

Trying to scan gal scout with amarr scout is not an easy task.
As said above, you would be better with gallogi.
With Gallogi you are helping your entire team.
With Amarr scout not even close.
I recomend you Gallogi.

If you want to hunt Gal scoutsGǪ Gal Logi is best as many have said. If you want to have fun doing it Amarr Scout will do the job.
I recommend ScR and Bolt Pistol. Charged Shots on the ScR ends pretty much any light frame regardless of Armour/Shied profile. It has range and still works great in close. Bolt Pistol is great for handling anything else that you encounter.

Yeah, it needs a role.
Too much overlap from Assaults for it to be an Assault lite. Too much overlap from Gal for it to be more of a scout. Scanning rings nerfed Range Amps, which make Amarr's Precision bonus rather useless.
At this point, it is probably the suit that needs the most buff/direction. Maybe there is another I don't know about.

Passively scanning a scout confers a significant advantage in scout v scout combat, even at only 15m. This is based on my experience speed deploying in PC with precision mods.
I haven't used the Amarr scout, but I imagine it would be good with precision, kincats and a shotgun. In close quarters in skirmish, where you are likely to come across other scouts.
Vs mediums you don't even need any precision mods to scan them out to full range.
A Gal logi is a better scout counter. But I reckon the Amarr scout is a good scout. Well, probably not as good as the others, and things could be improved, but I wouldn't discount it. |

I'm playing it with a Shotgun and a Bolt Pistol for now, till I have enough points to fully spec into CR.
Atm I'm using an ADV suit since I pretty much need all the modules complex. Amarr scout skill is currently level 3.
2 Complex Precision Enhancers (20 dB scan precision)
4 Complex Ferroscale Plates (520 armor HP)
Drop Uplinks and a Compact Nanohive for armor repair.
I just went full armor tanking, which lets me survive a few encounters. I know it's not the best scout but it's really fun. If keep increasing the scout skill I don't think I'll need 2 precision enhancers. I'm not sure if 20 dB is too low and I should be using just 1 enhancer.

The A-scout lost it's purpose after the Scout and EWAR nerf, since back then EVERYONE was a scout deploying the amarr one was always a good choice to hunt down those little bastards

I watched a pretty decent video from Son of Havok about fitting an eWar AmScout.
Here it is.
With some tweaking, it has yielded my most useful AmScout to date.
Note: It's almost stripped of weaponry.
