The meta's set as it can be now. It's high time for another round of tweaks, the object being to make rifles a bit more versatile in general, and to buff ARs and sidearms other than SMG.
RR - Slight reduction in hipfire recoil/recoil increase
ARR - no change
SCR - slight decrease in hipfire recoil, very slight increase in cooldown time
ASCR - increase optimal range
CR - very slight decrease in length of fire interval
ACR - slight increase in falloff range
TAR - increase falloff range
BuAR - increase optimal range
AR - increase optimal range
BrAR - increase optimal range
SMG, BSMG - no change
ASMG - increase clip size
MAGSEC - decrease hipfire recoil/recoil increase, slight decrease in ADS recoil
BOLT PISTOL - slightly reduce charge time, slightly reduce hipfire dispersion
FLAYLOCKS - add a rocket
ION - increase optimal and falloff range
SCR PISTOLS - increase damage, slight increase to optimal range

Oh I forgot HMG:
HMG - slightly reduce heat buildup
BHMG - slightly reduce heat buildup
AHMG - needs to be revamped because you'll be laying down fire on a guy and be barely hitting him and then suddenly all your rounds will hit and he'll instapop. Too random! Solution is to drastically increase rate of fire and reduce damage accordingly.....and slightly reduce heat buildup |

Be specific.
The formula that works is to push a weapon to where it's slightly too good and then dial it back. Or if you get lucky it's just right.
Examples of just right: ARR, SMG...ok fine SCR, CR, ACR, HMG
The others need a little love...
ARR, SCR, CR, and ACR are the standard of effectiveness, so...
RR needs a little hipfire tweak. It's not so much better than ARR down sight to merit dealing with its extreme hipfire handicap. ASCR isn't as effective as ARR for a few reasons, so just give it a little tweak to range to help it catch up. TAR is not as effective as SCR, so tweak its range a bit BuAR isn't as effective as CR, so tweak its range AR and BrAR aren't as effective as ACR so tweak their range
All other sidearms aren't as effective SMG so give them a little love.
Burst HMG needs something. Heat makes sense. AHMG is just awkward and would work more like an HMG should against infantry with lower damage and higher rate of fire.
Laser Rifle's fix is simple: decrease it's mid-close range damage penalty. |
