Would you want to design a brand new version for the masses to flock too and after all that work, still have to deal with you?
Would you want to continue your crusade and push your bosses and beg them for a port telling them it will be the best idea ever because 3,000 people (or so) say it would be? That depends. Are these paying customers? Do I receive a pay check on the 15th and last day of every month? Is that pay check enough for me to support my family? Oh then yeah, I would continue to work on Dust 514 and push for a port to a newer, easier to work on platform. Moving this game to PC/PS4 would open it up to a larger audience and thus allow it to earn more money. And when this game, that I have worked on for so long, finally begins making big bucks who will my company look to? Who will they blame the success on? Me. That's right. I put up with the minority of whiny players. I carved spreadsheets into my arms. I came in early and left work late. Me. I did that. And **** you for suggesting that angry customers might deter me from my goal. My customers deserve a quality product and they cannot have that on the PS3. I want the best for my customers. I understand where you are coming from, but that is an extremely hard attitude to keep up.
Most people on the forums have been here for at least the past year, crying and bitching about this and that, I should be op and they should not, My weapon should be good theirs should not, and all the other issues that arise.
You must have some serious dedication to keep that attitude.
And I believe that our Devs do.
I am not sure CCP sees it, but our dust devs have to be some of the most tolerant hardworking people out there, to put up with the **** that half the community posts. and continue still to respond, and take feedback even though we are misleading bastards.
The issue is making CCP, not our devs, see that if we port dust to next gen, or to PC, it will be profitable.
Personally I think they could make it work, you just have to find the right case to throw to the higher ups. And that case can be very hard to find.
Our developers, already know how involved the community is, just look a the CPM, it is literally a nigh uninterrupted line directly to CCP for us, the community to use, and share ideas.
Look at biomassed, they have a goddamn podcast that interacts with the players.
The only question is not will we get a port, rather; when will CCP realise for dust to be as profitable as it can be, that it needs one.
Cleaning up the mess everyone leaves behind :)
