DUST Fiend wrote:I was so turned off from years of 3.5 that I won't even give PF the time of day. I enjoyed D&D 3.5 and hated 4E with a fiery, undying passion so Pathfinder was the logical progression for me.
DUST Fiend wrote:I am curious about 5E though. Not that I have a group where I am anymore, but it's like me and 5 other people on the entire planet that actually like 4E haha. Yeeeeeah. 4E is not played very much in my town. To me it was trying to create a themepark MMO feel with the whole leader, striker, defender, controller thing. It seemed to be made to be a board game and not a pen and paper game. Turned me off to it.
That being said, 5E looks like WotC took some feedback to heart. You can perform more combat in "Theater of the mind" style scenarios if you want. Players are saying it encourages more roleplaying and less min-maxing. I have heard many good things from DM's and players.

DUST Fiend wrote:I also love that spellcasters and non magic users are on the same footing, instead of every level becoming increasingly more favorable towards casters. Caster power scales like ass. Level 1: scrub, level 10: demigod, level 20: 6d100 fire/elec/cold ball lololololol
DUST Fiend wrote:I haven't looked into 5E much because I've given WotC WAY too much $$ in my lifetime lol, but I was happy to see they tried to appeal to most of the playerbase with it. /me looks at the bookshelf full of D&D3.5 books, not counting the two PHBs not pictured...
I second that. I'll play a few games using someone else's books before I start slinging my money at WotC.

DUST Fiend wrote:I forget if the resurrector or the resurrectee has to pay the XP fee :/ Unfortunately it is the resurectee. Either 1 level of experience or 2 points of constitution if they are already level 1.
I decree that a thread's character level is equal to the number of pages it has. Therefore, after this res your thread is back to 1. Alternatively I can have a meteor streak down from the sky, crushing the thread, allowing you to reroll. Max starting gold, 2d6 + 6 six times, Cure Light Wounds potions 50% off at character creation.
Going to keep this thread bumped until GM Archduke replies! I know you are out there!

Mossellia Delt wrote:If you play anything past 2nd Ed. AD&D, you are awful.
3.x is broken 4th is for children with how over simplified it is 5th is the best of 3.x and 4th which is still inferior to 2nd. Pathfinder master race.
