While I hate the idea of a corporate republic like the Caldari, the worlds governments could use a bit of technocratic meritocracy, so few of the worlds statesmen have any actual skill besides public speaking and maybe a law degree, my country atm is run by a guy whos career was student journalist, political staffer then politician. none of those things really add up to being qualified to run a country and it shows.

Gallente are the western ideal, Caldari are the western future, Amarr is what will happen to countries that continue to allow fundamentalist theists to interfere in the running of a state. Minmatar... just a story device to give the cool i wanna be a good guy with dreadlocks a place to be.

Caldari are U.S. Being militant and pragmatic with design instead of cutting edge. We prefer to build a glorified trailer rather than an actual building sometimes and furniture et al is usually derivitive and also-ran. No swiss design here. (Also Japan, see below)

Amarr are like the Catholic church (ilore says as much) of the middle ages with a dash of Islamic zealotry.

Minmatar are the poster child of any third world "victimized" peoples. Jews maybe?

Which countries represent each faction? Imo:

Gallente = US
Caldari = Japan
Amarr = UK
Minmatar = Cuba


Gallente: Liberalism and democracy. A strong, organized army with a good weapon variety, from shotguns to plasma cannons. Apart from the US which best represent these values, France would be a good contender.

Caldari: Capitalism, mega corporations. Their railgun technology is super high tech, from rifles to handguns. Their looks are sleek and classy. Japan is where technology is in constant experimention and growth.

Amarr: The Empress! A huge empire/kingdom with highly religious beliefs. Their weapons are very simbolic and are designed to with scriptures and drawing. England was once the strongest empire on Earth, and still to this date lives its legacy.

Minmatar: Once slaves to the Amarr they rebelled and created a whole new country. Cuba is similar in this aspect as they got their revolution back in the 50's. Minmatar do more with less, and goes by the saying "if there's duct tape, we can create it". Cuba goes by the same ideal where it's home to a good education system and leader in medicine research and breakthroughs, doing more with less.
