Use my CPM platform suggestion GÇô match slots.
You get two or three and if you leave a game you have to wait until that match finishes for that slot to be available again.
World of tanks does this.

Tiny Pineapple wrote:I have started to loathe the ISK system in this game. People stop trying to win the battle as soon as they get instagibbed by a proto suit. Honestly, I don't blame them. Why keep trying if you're just going to lose money?
Losing money? It's a pub match! Go in with STD/MLT suit with MLT/STD/ADV gear, you have to die about 15+ times and not try to lose money dude! I'm usually running a mix of STD/MLT with maybe enhanced repper, reactive plate, or myofibs. To restock the suit is typically less than 10k, usually far less. My 'expensive' suits are closed to 20k, and those are 'special case' fits. I average 200k ISK / match. That translates to an average about 150k+ ISK profit each match for me (yes, I tend to die a lot). If we're really getting stomped, then go straight MLT / Starter fit.
If you're running Proto in pubs then you shouldn't be crying about losing ISK. Running a 200k+ setup with no real risk / gain on the backend is just plain silly. There's no Faction Pride at stake, or clone packs or districts to be lost. Pubs are simply the practice / learning / giggles grounds. Go in to have fun and grind the ISK while your at it. I love knowing I killed a Proto with my MLT / STD setup. |

Playing solo and being stuck on a team of 6 v 14 at the very beginning is just a waste of time. Even worse since my MU is so high and the other team always has two squads on it. But yeah... Delt for CPM2... FML Its one thing I want to talk to CCP about with the player base. Its not fair for high MU players to be stacked against full squads and its not fair for new players to be stuck on the high MU players team and be put against those squads either. It kills the enjoyment not only for me, but for the players going 0/16 with less then 100 WPs . Yeah, but, you already said it. Making you one of the battle leavers imo, forever. So glad I didn't toss you a vote.
I like to think of it as a form of protest that CCP can see in the data. As I don't have an ability to talk to CCP as of right now directly this is a way to show them matchmaking doesn't work from data points.

Can we have a skunk rule? If to many players leave one side, the game gives victory to the other team.
I dont feell like waiting for a predecided battle to drag out till one MCC blows up. I try to stay in matches but 5 v 12 is not fun to play against.
Its lame people only want easy kills to pad KDR so maybe KDR should be taken away.

Idk, I've been in some 5 v 12's that were actually close battles. That, I think, shows the problem with thinking it's all about the numbers. Remember that pubs host everyone from the elite squads to the drooling noobs. Sure, it's definitely tougher when they more than double your numbers, and with half a brain they should manage to cover your points of entry reasonably well, but that also means that you (presumably, the more experienced vet) need to find more creative ways of teaching them to stay on their toes.
Flanking the noobs while they cover the obvious paths can be fun too, it doesn't have to always be the same boring 'run, shoot, hack' over and over.
When I started this game around a year ago, the big complaint was about Proto stomping in pubs. Now, it sounds like those same protostompers are leaving instead of simply playing the game.
If the game is only fun when you win, maybe you should find a different pastime. Entitlements do not, and should not, exist on the battlefield.
Really starting to sound like old protostompers crying about not getting free wins. I can tell you this much - the day this game becomes 'challenge free' will be the day I quit. Want boring, easy wins? Go play Farmville. I hear they even have a sequel (because, you know, it's so much FUN). |

I see gamers need to be pampered nowadays, bunch of spoiled punks we are going to raise, just you watch. All I hear is "we aren't good enough for competition, so please let the 8 of us stomp on the same patch of noobs until they stop being noobs, then they can join us and stomp on all the other noobs" Because good fights are for pussies. Are you seriously trying to flip my words around? I see you are one of those pathetic wimps that bad gaming has nurtured... Ladies and Gentelclones, I present to you DUST Fiend.. A dust player who chooses to fly around the map doing loopty loops, refusing to land on the ground and help a merc out with some grunt work. INSTEAD, he will either choose one of these 2 paths: Fly a mile high or jusy leave battle when the going gets tough. Like I said, ya'll a bunch of wimps and I gauge EVERY SINGLE MERC I come across and keep a pretty clear mental record on the circumstances that lead to their eventual departure from battle. AHA! Clarification has hit me, now I know why you are flipping my words... It's because I flip your dropship like a pancake right? Lol, I have three fits named H3XER, a light, medium, and heavy, ready for when I see you in the killfeed. (or any other jumpy hitty splashy guys...) One of my favorite dust moments was melee'ing you whilst you were in your melee fit. -¬_-¬
Haha, ya you will almost never find me without a melee fit, unless I am Forging with 4 damage mods for obv OP tanks..
Devadander, you and other merc's who have landed knockout hooks on my face... you all make me soo proud!
You took notes. You learned from them. Then changed your playstyle when neccessary ( Like when I'm on Opposing Team )
Great example of a good gamer right thurrrr.

Doesn't matter if the people don't actually play once they are matched up.
This playerbase will still hide in the redline. Matchmaking just removed new players from veteran matches. This showcased the number of veteran players who sandbag match after match.
Add back in the new players and the matches would be more fun for veterans who actually shoot at people when they turn on this FPS called Dust, but you'd still have an NPE problem.
I don't think it's possible to match make with this playerbase. I think you should be able to toggle your player to ACTION mode, these players would actually play Dust.
Toggling to SPECTATOR mode would give them a small amount of ISK per day. There would be a video on a loop of a sniper sitting 500 meters away from anything.
This way the matches could be filled with players who actually want to play. |
