The beautiful part of this is when you scroll down to see what he was carrying in his Ship Hangar and Cargo Bays. This gorgeous killmail is from only a week ago.
While all us ground-pounders grind Public Contracts for ISK, the Capsuleers continue to horribly fit incredibly expensive ships and then lose them to Black Ops fleets.

To try and put this further in perspective, a 500MN MicroWarpdrive is designed to accelerate a ship in the mass range of a Battleship. That Super-Carrier is 4 times the size of a Battleship. That MWD would give him barely enough acceleration to be noticeable.

EVE seems so nerdy and annoying, and even I classify myself as being a nerd. Was that literally everything he owned packed onto one ship? Surely he now can't do anything but grind for, months, years?
No idea how much ISK that actually is in terms of what EVE players have and what they earn.
EDIT: Look at this https://zkillboard.com/kill/48112248/ I guess it's quite normal to lose 10s of billions of ISK? Or not?
EDIT2: Wow so was that an officer's module he had? The equivalent to our precision enhancer? https://zkillboard.com/item/15276/ 1.4bn for one module? I guess there's a lot I don't know. |

If you've got the time and determination, you can grind up enough to buy a whole solar system. I mean, if that were possible.
Most of us use PvE or Industry to make a few hundred million a week at least.

The only kill mail I have seen worse than that was the guy that got ganked in Jita the day skins were released. He was carrying something like 400 skins which had not even been traded enough to establish a market estimate. We estimated his loss to be somewhere in the $5000 USD area.
The real value of the kill mail posted here was most likely closer to the 25 - 2600 dollar range which I can not imagine how much that hurt. When I got roughly $250 USD blown up in under a minute I was simply speechless.

Currently it would cost you $20 to get just under 1 billion ISK.
This means to get 1 trillion ISK you would be looking at $20,000 USD minus the bulk discount which CCP gives on that large of plex purchases. 1 trillion would probably end up costing you somewhere in the $15,000 range and take weeks to sell off that many plex without destabilizing any of the markets and losing yourself billions of ISK in the process.

There is a reason for putting microwarp drives on capital ships is it draws you to be shot first in some cases.
This is used to draw fire from other similar ships if your setup to tank better.
Example is when you start targeting a group of ships the one with the largest signature gets locked first.

so if you were willing to dedicate your life to it, even though you may put in lots of hours for a small salary, you could even make EVE your job by multi-boxing and selling ISK to people?

The initial download is sort of big but not bad.
Updates go really smooth since they switched to the resources on demand system. You almost barely notice them.
Subscription fees are more for people who do not have any grind time at all. Currently I can make about 100 million ISK in 2 hours meaning at current plex prices it only takes me about 20 hours a month to plex my account.

I get you, I think. if you have time to grind, you get PLEX, extend your license and keep playing that way? Downloading it now for a trial account, just updating, doesn't seem to be a huge file at all! in fact not as bad as on the PS4!
See it would be good if EVE ISK could transfer over to DUST and the worlds were connected, I guess it can only be done on PC (where is legion?) but imagine MLT dropsuits costing 1M ISK or more |

He was an idiot, moving within blops range of PL.
Carrying all the stuff wasn't a bad decision, but the T2 tank and poofit subcaps show how dumb he was.
