1. A campaign for new players and veteran player And at the end of this campaign has a really hard boss with a AI that learns as you play and this boss has a chance to drop bpo's ,skins, officers gear, and lots of sp and isk but getting into this battle will not be free it will cost 500 aur to enter this battle.
2. Create two different servers one for veteran players and one for new and rookie players but make it where anyone above private first class can not enter the rookie server but the if the rookies want they can enter the vets server only if they are a private or higher.
3. And i would like to see a map creator made in the forums so players can make maps and then send them too ccp so they can put then into the game.
So if anyone would like to build off these ideas your input is welcome. |

1: I've always liked an idea like this but we need to have PVE in place and there is no guarantee (or hint) that it is coming anytime in the near future.
2: Maybe... They basically do have this with battle academy and remember, people make Alts all the time.
3. I mentioned something like this a LONG time ago. The thing is, with the small DEV base, do they really have time to go through all the different submissions and figure out what would work, what wouldn't, what would be fun, what is logistically realistic, etc.? Do they even have someone to make the map creator in the first place. I guess if they had the CPMs go through them as a filter and send only viable ideas forward it MIGHT work. But that is not a part of the CPM's job and asking them to do that in addition to what they are already doing is a stretch. *edit* There is a "map ideas" section on the forums where you can explain ideas of maps. It is about 6 sections down.
I like your ideas. I'm just looking at how it would work and am having troubles with the logistics of all of it.

I find you bright eyed and bushy-tailed demeanour refreshing.
1.) That would certainly be an amazing thing for any game. 2.) Dust 514's players base is too small to sustain that kind of separation though i think it would be cool if we had a Test Server like EVE SiSi or whatever it is called. 3.) One of my corp members actually designed a full Unreal 3 map for Dust 514...... it was never used.

I can't tell you how much I would LOVE a campaign mode for me and a squad. I would literally smack a kitten in the face for it, and I'm a pretty nice person.
I think meta locked matches would work best, they have even been throwing around the idea. I know vets would still have the upper hand based off of skills, but it would be nice to have a more level playing field, it would stop a lot of people from whining about proto too.
I think they just need to make more simpler maps. Maybe a three story inside map, they wouldn't have to worry about backgrounds or much texturing or terrain. Just a three story building, hallways and rooms, with all kinds of cover.
I think they need to just make simple maps, in all my years of playing FPS's, it's usually the simple maps that I have always loved the most.

Hi, and welcome.
1) On the subject of a campaign mode, CCP once had plans to add PVE battles against rogue drones, but nothing ever came of it. In Fanfest (an annaul convention hosted by CCP for all their games) 2014, they announced that PVE would not be coming to Dust, but it is (supposedly) coming to Dust's successor -- Project Legion, a PC game that is essentially Dust 514 with better graphics, and some changes and features. It should be noted that Legion has not been green-lit yet, and might already be scraped. We haven't heard about Legion for a long long time. Anyway since the announcement, Dust has received a lot of balancing, UI, and system changes, but no new major developments like new weapons, so I don't think anything as big as PVE or a campaign mode will ever happen for Dust. Basically, don't hold your breath.
2) Matchmaking tries to put teams of equal skill against each other already, so I don't think the server thing is necessary, but the problem matchmaking faces is that there aren't enough players to fairly match players, so it ends up having to put ill-matched teams sometimes because it's the only way to make battles happen. Further server divisions wouldn't be a good idea given how low the player population is.
3) Map creator would be cool, but the dev team of Dust has been reduced significantly (hence the lack of new guns and stuff), so I don't think it's feasible. Another problem would be that maps created by players could be extremely imbalanced.

Yeah...... I'd make maps that basically favoured long range combat with massive open areas with minimal cover between heavily fortified objectives.
Sieges galore!

Similar to True. Down in the Map ideas section, I have a full blown description for a D-Day style Normandy/Omaha beach style map with parameters, layout, etc. Any and all playstyles, all match type possibilities (it was before Aquisition was a thing but it would work for that too.
