This is exactly how Eve works with the salvage system. Add LP bonuses per kill based on value in FW. Again just like Eve. Problem solved. It solves lopsided battle problems in pubs as well. I think they should consider L10 standings players being able to kick players from matches in FW.

The dude was going positive most matches with a lot of 6-9 type matches mixed in. The difference was that he joined a corp right away and started squading up, he uses his mic to get advice and to coordinate with squad mates. The people I see doing the most AFK are not noobs, they are vets. Put your violin away.

Now I am as against people going AFK as the next guy, but when your wife is wounded you don't tell her to wait until your match is over. I stuck my character in a corner (about 10m from the objective) and listening to the sounds of blasting weapons in my wireless headphones as I ran to the bathroom and proceeded to extract the splinter with a pair of tweezers. Much to my surprise I was still alive when I returned. That is my AFK story, although to don't think this thread was actually meant to address those rare incidents where people have a legitimate reason for going AFK. Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

I'm getting into matches where there are so many people not doing ANYTHING that your only option is dampened scout taking objectives solo. Once spotted there are 6 people shooting at you from every direction. I used to leave these types of matches, but when you get a streak of 4 or 5 like this WTF are you supposed to do? And again, these aren't noobs not doing stuff. They are veteran hoarders.

Giving payouts to leavers removes the incentive to afk. It doesn't have to be on par with end of match payouts, just "something" Scrub-a-dub-dub

You expect people to come out to brawl in a fight that is already over, which is stupid, and at least partially your own fault for insisting on jamming your 16 into FW all night. You can't win with 4 in pubs so you don't even bother, but you expect randoms to put up an effort against a stack. The game hands everything to everyone, and the players encourage that action. You want to stop AFKing? Remove passive SP for being alive in matches. The solution to the AFK problem has always been that simple. Well, aside from the repercussions of such a change of course. Not that the downsides to such a change would matter to the no life q sync brigade. For a couple of weeks anyway. Or not.... Killing is not nearly the point of the game. It is a tool to complete the appointed tasks of each game mode. Some players are busy doing some of the MANY other activities that contribute to wins other than "killing". So not a solution at all unless you want to ignore 2/3 of the suits and roles in the game.

If you take a single squad into FW you see a lot of AFK. You know what they say about assumptions. Do you really think I don't enjoy tough competition? I've never misrepresented myself as being some slayer god, but I do enjoy tactical gameplay. I prefer playing in a team setting and it annoys me greatly when most on my team are screwing off. I don't expect for pubs and FW to become high stakes, professional gameplay, but at the moment overall gameplay in Dust is complete garbage.
