Ignoring the post above lol... Arkena had a guide to using it maybe someone will links, might be outdated due to all the nerfs to the weapon.
You'll want to learn by "feel" when the overheat comes, by this I mean shooting at a wall and perfecting a rhythm and knowing when to stop. For use in CQC I suggest you leave the right stick alone and use aim assist to your advantage, don't move the gun only your body. In Ads remember about the vertical kick, aim for the torso and let it go up. It is also important to know when to spam and when to charge. If you feel it is a safe target go for the charge, use it carefully because it will lead to an overheat to finish the target. Spam only when you are in danger as you will deal out the most damage this way. I wish I could make myself clear but it is awfully late.

ALWAYS.
Remember that you can be charging your SCR whilst it's cooling down.
If you're just walking somewhere, have your SCR charged. If you think you're about to encounter a red, charge your SCR.
Use the high alpha from your charged shot to your advantage. Duck in and out of cover firing short bursts lead by charged shots.
CHARGED SHOTS. ^ What separates the good ScR user from the great. Charged shots are NASTY when they land. I'm not actually convinced this is a good idea. IF you are using an Amarr assault then yes, this is a useful thing to do. If not, though, the heat economy of the charge shot is terrible. You can get ten normal shots off for every fully charged shot. A charge shot volley will be composed of about 7 shots with the charged shot with typical trigger pull rates before overheating. Having mained the SCR on non-Amarr assaults for a year or so, I vastly prefer using uncharged vollies unless shooting at soft targets. The ability to near-instasplat scouts is nice, but the ability to actually kill heavies is better. even when using the Amarr Assault suit, it is more often then not a better idea to keep your heat to the least amount possible, just charging because... would leave me heat starved and dead when i started to use it from day 1, you never know what is around that next corner. As i got better with it, i would use the charge shot less and less, only using it when i would need to use it, like diving of a roof or when getting ambushed in the back and charging it while jumping of a roof/turning jump or peekabooing when you know the target is on his last legs and you want to leave cover for the shortest amount of time possible. Charge shots are best used when finishing off a target quickly, instead of using it as your opening move. I only use the charge on light to lightly tanked medium units, I aim for the head as much as I can but on heavier suits, non charged volley from a distance is my preferred style of engaging them Intresting, at range I like to to open with a charge(they'll think it is a sniper shot and run) followed by maybe 3 quicks and a few half charges. At CQC it's a little harder, I move towards the heavy quickly(in Commandolol) while spamming the gun to his head I then switch to my LR to finish him off.
