Now, I'm not saying to give heavies an equipment slot, just make it so when I switch to my heavy all of my previous equipment doesn't self-destruct. As a mostly solo player I used to love laying links down with my logi then switching to my heavy. When they changed how equipment worked it got a lot harder for me to make sure everything is covered. I'm forced to either take myself out of the fight because I'm working on keeping my team supplied, or I have to hope my blues can keep up links while I'm fighting in the field.

No. This is the EXACT reason Bandwidth was put into the game in the first place.
1. Spawn in Logi 2. Throw down a bunch of uplinks/nanohives/etc 3. Swap to Heavy 4. Earn double WP by killing and doing the Logi's work
Bandwidth is there so that each role keeps their niche in the battlefield and someone isn't trying to make points doing two different roles at the same time. If you want to earn WP from uplinks/nanohives, etc, you need to use a logi or a suit that has bandwidth.
If you want to be a heavy killing machine, you don't get to double dip and get WP from doing other people's job as well.

That's fine for when you're running coordinated squads, but it hurts overall performance for anyone who likes running solo. You're basically making me half as effective as I could be for no reason at all.

But there are soooo many times that I'm one of the few people doing anything. You go kill a few dudes, take the point, but get overwhelmed. It would be nice if your uplink wouldn't pop when you spawn heavy to try keep the point.
It seems to me that this playerbase is such complete trash that we need to have Megazord suits that can convert back and forth from a tank to a suit with a mobile CRU, scanner, etc. |

Kail, I hear what you're saying. I was in your shoes at one time getting crushed. However, I was able to adapt and learn from it.
My primary playstyle when I play is as a solo Logi. I normally find a group running together and stay with them (I'm essentially a free squad member not giving WP towards an OB), I throw down uplinks, nanohives, and have my rep tool and needle handy to help. On certain CQC maps, I will throw some RE's on there and use those to help hold point objectives when people go through firelanes. I'm able to come up positive on KDR running a logi while also helping my team out.
If we need to have uplinks etc in play, I will stay in my logi. If we don't, I'll switch to a Commando/Heavy and help with the killing instead of the saving. However, it has to be a one or the other.
Adapting and overcoming is the way of life in New Eden. It's a hard lesson to learn but, once you do, you are be O.K.

@ OP: I agree. Enough bandwidth to run an uplink or a hive would be fine. Not gonna get a lot of uplink spam from one uplink per heavy, there's a serious lack of uplinks in pubs as it is - players, especially lonewolves, who fight for their team and the win are forced to spend a healthy portion of most matches switching out to uplink suits to ensure their team doesn't end up spawn trapped.
This ideology of hard-forcing suits into roles diminishes the game. It's generic cookie cutter thinking. Did it gain us any playerbase to cut heavies off from team-based gameplay? Lol no.
Why be hypocrites? We should do the same thing to vehicle pilots - your bandwidth goes to zero when you get in the pilot's seat.

Of your entire post, this is the idea that made the most sense No double-dipping for WPs, even for pilots. If pilot dropsuits were ever implemented they should be given 0 bandwidth to fix this problem.
