I have played as every race with a new profile to test a idea i had. I play with my milita suit on my main account (Spridis) and i get desist kills im not the top of the leader bored but im not the bottom ether. Spridis has over 30 mil on his sp now i dont seem to be going any where with this but just hear me through. I can run milita and get good kills because of all the passive up grades he has such as the armor, shields, spring, hell even damage on my primary has a passive and my passive upgrades to my weapons (Scrambler Rifle) affect the Milita scram as well. I have spent 3 days on other accounts using other milita suits and i must say i was vary discouraged. After just about 2 battles i was frustrated and did int want to play dust any more. The Gallente front line suit is a bad suit im not saying this to the experience players who now how to flank and to do hit and run. The people who just start the game and dont have a real grip on how dust is played will die alot and get discouraged alot. I was barly able to get any sp from battle mainly because all the guys i started shooting at would turn around and kill me all most insinlay from proto weapons and armor. I was easily taken out from avd side arms and basic weapons. now to some one who has played before the Gallente was a hard milita suit to play. The Minmatar and Caldari suits where alot easier to use i got alot of kills with the Caldari front line and same gos for the Minmatar. now i was still taken out from protos and others but i still had a chance and got a descent amount of sp and isk for it. As for the ammar they are ok not the beast but not as bad as the Gallente. So my thought is ccp should make the milita suits stronger more fire power but then there would be the problem of people who have all this passive sp using it more since its a free suit and cost nothing to run. I dont have it planned out to make every thing balanced. I just want new players to fell less insignificant when they play.
(Ps) I cant wait to get all the reply's from people who are like (They should stop playing cod or they should get good)

Glad you brought this up.
I think everything in the game should be at least -viable-.
I will write more on this later, but there are a few points I'd like to make now.
- MLT gear is inconsistent. Some things, like the uplink and ARR are actually better than the basic variants. - I don't think MLT gear should have any disadvantages from Basic gear besides PG/CPU. I believe the MLT AR has a smaller clip than the basic.
And +1

I dont think militia is too weak for new players, but the starter fits are definately too weak, they are aweful. |

OP brings up some great points. +1.
Though you are more likely to get some Dev attention by offering possible solutions (the hard part). How would you propose militia gear be improved?

I just want new players to have a chance to experience the game. Alot of new players love the game when they are in the academy and facing people there own skill set but once they get to a open pub battle where they face every one they give up. many of my friends love to play dust but only the academy they never want to take the time to build a character up mainly because it is to hard to start from nothing. Yes the passive and the booster helps but it doseint get them far enough to the skill level they need to be able to even stand a chance ageist a relay good player. I want dust to grow as much as any dust player but it is getting annoying to keep seeing players you just played last battle and the one before that and the one before that, And any new players you face most likely quit because you moped the floor with them. I just want the new players to have a suit that wont go down from a av sub. I dont know how to make it not op or fix the problem i just want to bring it to light. So when we do fix it we can start playing people who are new who have a different approach to the battle. I want new players to have a fighting chance thats all.

It is just fine and doesn't need to be changed.
Militia gear is the equivalite to Civilian gear in EVE Online. It gets the bottom base line of the job done but shouldn't be something you want to sit at.
On a personal note, I can make militia gear quite lethal.

I'm in favor of flushing MLT gear down the toilet and locking in STD.
WoW has taught me that Purple means Legendary. This means Quafe suits are the optimal loadout for killing all of you.

I'm in favour of MLT items having on par primary stats but worse drawbacks, i.e. same repair rate, dps, hp etc but higher fitting, lower clip size, or ADV drawbacks |

Only for some things. Plates = aweeome, sheild rechargers not so much. I don't touch mlt weapons, nanohive are literall useless, and the locus grenade is weird with its 1 carry limit |

Why not base the battles on your SP total? I've menfioned this before. Make it a contract tier type thing.
0-5,000,000 = T1 5,000,001-10,000,000 =T2 10,000,001-15,000,000 = T3 15,000,001-20,000,000 =T4 20,000,001+ =T5
I thunk some thing like that aould help a lot!!!
Now, PC battles would be a free for all type thing, as far as the tiers go.
What do you think?
I am Caldari, but that does not mean I support our alliance with the Amarr..

You would need to raise the numbers on the tiers. I personnally and I believe alot on the forums have well over 20 million by themselves.

In eve Milita may work but eve is much different. When i started playing eve all i did was grind the Ai ships for points and isk until i got a good enough ship and what i thought was a good set of skill points to hold my own in pvp sectors (PS i was vary wrong ) But in dust you cant face an Ai until your a a bad ass you face real people with powerful weapons. Plus in eve you can stick to places that is almost clear of enemys wall you do missions, and there is all ways the run away option in eve. Dust dose int have that option you could leave battle but then you lose all your isk and skill points and any suits you lost. Witch puts the new player back in the same spot as before except this time they have less isk if they ran a stand or a real weapon on there Milita. So ya Milita works on eve it get the job done mainly because you can avoid enemys, grind, run away, and not to mention the massive map you have. Dust dos int have that no mater where you go no mater how far back in the red line you go most likely some one will find you and kill you. Even then the new players don't get any battle skill point or isk because you have to get at lest 150 points before you are aloud skill points. so you cant say that Militla is fine in dust because it works in eve. as for the point system that sounds like a good idea for the new players. Unrelated note yes you can make Milita deadly if you are vary smart and careful in battle, but most of the time you will die a lot and only get 6 or 7 kills. But the new players dont have the ep we have playing the game, and when you say you can make it deadly dose this mean you have started a new character and was able to make it as deadly as your Milita character on your main account. Before you comment you should try starting a new character and playing as it for a few days that way you understand what im referring to when i say they don't have passive skill points affecting there suit. (PS this is a good way to relay open your eyes to how much your passive skills relay affect your character. Such as Armor, Shields, Sprint speed, Stamina, Hack Speed, and all that good stuff you have.

What do you think? I would prefer to not have to fight constant PROTO just because I have over 20,000,000 sp |

I mean it kind of comes down to this.
For most people trying the game for the first time, they only thing they're going to have access to is Militia, so that's basically what they're going into the fight with. The issue of course is that a large portion of the community is SP saturated and runs very high level gear most of the time.
Now I like to run cheap gear, that's just how I enjoy playing the game because I want to minimize cost and maximize profits. So I find myself typically in STD BPO suits with BPO MLT modules a lot and I'm sitting on over 60 million SP, so my suit bonuses are pretty well maxed. Now I would consider myself a pretty average player, I keep a positive KDR despite using SP saturated-low end gear.
Despite this fact, when I face Prototype guys (which is fairly often these days) I REALLY have to outplay them to have a chance, either by getting a substantial drop on them or just being a significantly better player. Either way its a real ***** to kill these guys most of the time.
Now imagine coming into the game as a new player in a similar situation to mine, except lacking the understanding of the game as well as the SP used to boost the suits performance significantly. To them, someone in Proto gear is....effectively impossible to kill. Now don't get me wrong, Im not saying SP or Prototype shouldn't offer a large benefit, but the mathematical differences between that new player and that veteran player is nearly insurmountable regardless of player skill level.
So to a new player, they're going to come into the game feel like they don't even have a change to success. They may get the drop on someone and still get instantly vaporized...and while Im not saying we should cater to the carebears, a large portion of players will say "F-This" and just uninstall the game. And you can't necessarily expect a new player to get kicked in the face for 3 months while he skills up...in actuality you probably have about 3 days to get someone to be interested enough in the game to stick around, and the current differences in gear are really hindering that.
It comes down the fact that in order for the game to have a strong new player experience, the game needs to be nearly as enjoyable for a new player as it is for a veteran.
