Could really do with a BPO power core to go with the skin. As a replacement for a BPO suit. |

Reducing strafe speed is likely to have the most effect on suits that currently rely heavily on strafe speed, i.e. assaults and hp tanked scouts.
Hopefully this will tone down FOTM min assaults, as well has helping stealth gameplay, HMG heavies, rep and scan logis, commando utility and shield tanking. Generally making things more tactical.
Unfortunately Gallente assaults may suffer as much as Minmatar. There was mention in the past of possible AR buffs or Gal ass bonus improvements. May be best to see how things pan out though. |

May be best to see how things pan out though. might be just me but what does the strafe of a hmg heavy have to do with the strafe nerf? i normally would just charge at them holding R1... a logi i can see as i run in little circles to pass the time while repping people tho. also not getting a AR buff doesn't make gal suffer in anyway.. they stay the same and get affected by the global nerf every other suit gets effected by..... i might have misread or something but feel free to explain c: It helps HMG heavies as targets will be less able to strafe through the HMG fire. As you say, heavies rely less on strafing themselves, so the nerf won't hit them as hard.
Regarding Gal assaults, I was saying they tend to rely quite heavily on strafing, so the nerf will hit them harder than some other suits. I was also saying that we should remember that there has been mention of possible AR/Gal assault buffs, so perhaps we shouldn't worry too much about the effect the strafe nerf might have on them. |

This change can be debated, but probably not averted, but it could be reverted in a later hotfix. Maybe you want to clarify your definition of a tactical shooter, because for the past 2+ years Dust has never been anything near what you're inciting. Furthermore, I have always questioned the wiggle wiggle witch hunt movement. I agree, Hit detection is not perfect, but by all means a player does not become invincible by moving back and forth. So my question is this: Is Dust 514 now a branded tactical shooter and therefore strafing is no longer a needed mechanic? My take on this is that strafing is an important part of the game, but will be toned down by this change. It's about balance. |
