Also, what do you mean by "soon"? He doesn't mention any timeframes or general "We would like to port in 2016" announcements.

This isn't really news.
It's either that, or just let the game die on PS3. CCP has invested quite a bit into Dust. Money, time, as well as spent years planning the integration into their main game EVE. They're not just gonna pull plug.
Dust has a promising future. And a reboot on a new platform gives so much opportunity to do everything right this time, learn from the mistakes of Dust.

I was about to bring up World of Darkness to remind you that CCP has committed much greater time (8 years) and resources ($20 million worth) to a game before its plug was pulled, but then I realized something...
Unlike World of Darkness, Dust 514 has actually progressed not just into closed beta and has experienced multiple major updates, it is also making money. WoD never even got a chance to go into alpha testing before it was shelved permanently.

Someone made a post about how the game isn't ready to port.. they are right. A pc port would be so scary I hate to think about what kind of exploitation we would see there; they can't even work out how to fix turbo scr rifles.

If dust is put onto ps4 I suppose I will buy one just for dust. But only if all of our years of hard work is saved, if we have to start over with a brand new acc and start grinding sp and isk again, im done. I will not start from scratch again. |

They obviously want a piece of the console market.
If they didn't, Dust would have been PC from the start, and Valkyrie wouldn't be on the PS4.

Its not perfect, but it exists.
Drones, from what I gathered exist in some form and are in a testing phase. They wouldn't have mentioned it if it were a pipe dream still.

This is what I want to believe. But I really can't come to terms with the silence on the issue. If they intend on having a Legion or a Dust on PS4/PC then they need to say something really, really soon.
"We have every intention of bringing a New Eden FPS shooter game to a new platform. Development toward this has been ongoing for more than a year. With the continued support of the Dust playerbase it only makes sense for us to make this happen."
Something as noncommittal as that would have a large effect on what happens over the next few months to our playerbase. |

I feel like Dust as we know it will die on the PS3 (and so it should). CCP has already stated that PC is where they want to go with a New Eden FPS.
If legion does happen it's likely going to be quite a departure from Dust which, even though it is fun, never turned out to be the game we all wanted.
Even though I would like it to go on to the PS4, lets face it a game that is linked to eve online makes much more sense being on PC. |

My question is, if dust does ever get ported to something else. What will it be on.
I'm a massive console fan and don't like gaming on PC . I'd hate for dust to go to PC. Anyone else agree?

That is indeed a very positive sign and one that actually hasn't been mentioned much on the Forums in that context.
Given they said last year that the CPM was Dust-only and would have no input on Project Legion, the fact that they're electing a new CPM means they plan to keep operating Dust.

I am really happy.
It's nothing concrete but dust can grow nicely on the ps4. It could theoretically do better on pc but i don't want to be playing eve and dust on 2 monitors.
Games like dust are very niche on pc. Pc gamers on the whole, do tend to go for more indie and casual games. Take csgo for instance. It is bland as sht with nothing to it, you can't even ads, but it hit 450k players not too long ago.
Now take planetside 2, it has not even close to half of that on at any one time.
Ps4 is the smarter choice. If dust is running this well on the ps3 which has less power than some phones in many respects, think about how great it will be on ps4.
