Isk for your thoughts. Why keep Dust 514 an exclusive to the PS3. Would you play it on the 360? I know it won't likely happen, but if CCP were to entertain the idea, would it be a flop or a success? (Tinfoil hats engaged)

there is a difference between purposefully KEEPING it exclusive, and NOT BEING ABLE to make it cross platform for whatever reason.

Point taken. I have heard about certain agreements between such parties, but I mean if a company wants to expand and break out of their rut, they can take measures to do so. - Transfer of isk can take up to 24 business hours. -

Thing is I do not know if Microsoft is just words and no action. I have heard that Microsoft wants all their games to be played in their own servers. NO exception. This would no go with CCP.

well not 360, whatever it goes to has to be able to run, large servers, 60fps, 1080p or higher, HD textures, and a proper ******* QA team, because apparently they dont know what QUALITY ASSURANCE means |

So I guess Warframe and (soon) ES:O are the only exceptions?

The game was supposed to be on PS3 and 360 in the first place, but Microsoft wouldn't agree to what CCP wanted as far as I've heard.
So it became a PS3 exclusive. I really doubt Microsoft is going to be any more interested now than they were then in supporting a game that requires cross-play with their direct competitor.

MS would try to buy the studio and then make several games that are just utterly bad. Hey at least it would be on the steadiest online service available for consoles.

I believe Kevall said somewhere that there was very early builds of Dust running on the 360, but as Microsoft wanted to connect Tranquility to their own servers, unlike Sony who were fine with it being independent, CCP changed focus to make it a Playstation exclusive title.
So no Xbox One.

It's not that they can't run their own servers, which Microsoft will allow... if and only if Microsoft is able to access and control those servers as they go through their network.
So in the case of other games they -do- have their own servers, but the ones that go to Xbox 360 can be touched freely by Microsoft.
Seeing as Tranquility is all one server (both EVE and DUST) CCP was understandably uneasy with giving any company free reign access to literally the beating heart of their entire company. Because if Tranquility goes down due to Microsoft mistakes, it's EVE and DUST that would both go down.

Microsoft demanded full and unrestricted access to EVE Online in exchange for having Dust514 on the xbox, instead of practically giving away EVE just to make another game, they went with Sony who allowed them to continue on their own servers with no interest in gaining access to EVE Online.

Obviously they should be porting it to Android
- Open source
- Most phones have over 1gb of ram, PS3 only has 512mb
- Diverse cross platform and cross-carrier play possible, at&t samsung galaxy players can play with nvidia shield players
- Intuitive touch and motion based controls possible
- Easy in-app purchases
- Evolving platform: with dozens of android smartphones, tablets, and other devices released every year, there will never be a shortage of options for Dust 514's growth!
- Push notifications reminding players to log in to collect daily rewards, warbarge products, and perhaps finish a daily mission or two!

Unfortunately Xbox Live would require you to pay money to access multiplayer on a free-to-play game (example: World of Tanks). Thankfully PlayStation Plus doesn't require payment for multiplayer as long as the game is free-to-play. Just look at Blacklight Retribution and couple of other such games on the PS4.
And yes, apparently Microsoft wanted to exert more control than necessary over CCP's connection between the game and the Tranquility server. But that was a long time ago before closed beta and who knows if Microsoft updated their policies in order to compete with Sony's offer. But either way, I don't want to pay extra just to be able to play multiplayer on a free-to-play game.

I tried playing FPS games on my Samsung Galaxy S5. I don't like the controls.
