Funny, i stumbled across something similar last week.
Starter frontline-CA with a duvolle & complex dmg mod. Clear shields in a heartbeat with the AR, polish them off with a militia bolt pistol. Meta lvl 13 & relatively cheap.

Surprised tbh, only assaults in the top ten are Cal. Also surprised by all those ARs at the top of the chart.
'OP' Minsault not even on the chart, can't imagine where it's going to be after the nerf. 'OP' CR also not on the chart.
Also surprised to see the OP Scr at #6 tho i suppose that's partially gated by Amarr Assault, also not on the list. Peeps are using the Scr on non-AmAssaults, meaning it's viable without it's bonus.

I like the linked website. It shows what currently is being bought in mass.
However, what is being bought a lot isn't necessarily the FOTM, it might just be what is dying in mass to the FOTM.
The FOTM would be the one with the highest KDR and hence a relatively lower amount of purchases compared with the ones dying to it...

Look at the historical graphs. There was clearly some kind of problem with data collection on a few things near the end of May, namely regarding the CR, RR and all dropsuits (though the effect is most visible for Assaults), which has skewed the Tryhardinator. The GEK does usually rank in the top 2-3, though, I would image due to the fact that many newer players default to the AR just because of the name.
Reality is the original Rorschach.

hmm, was that the case when Minass topped the list? What about the Gal scout? I could be wrong but it seemed to show the most used suit in the past. Why now that it shows Calass is it wrong?

Once again, look at the Historical Graphs section of the site. Tryhardinator is currently further away from accuracy than it would be normally due to some problems in data collection over the past couple weeks. It'll probably take a few more weeks before it becomes genuinely representative again.

It seems that data from CCP is bad for more than 24 hours, resulting in dust.thang storing the incorrect values long-term.
Have fiddled a bit with the process, next run will go back 14 days (instead of just 1) to collect hopefully-correct data from CREST. After this, will to try keep it at +3 days, assuming CCP's export process will have correct data there. |

The information comes from Market orders Vrain.
Prototype and more powerful suits are less likely to die and as a result are purchased less.
Because it all runs on Market data, if you have enough time/ISK you could very very easily skew it.

Noticed this over the weekend too. Only last week it was Min Assaults and Combat Rifles across the board.
Anything to do with the migration of Q-Syncs to Cal-FW? As someone in a starter suit just beginning to run Gal-FW I certainly felt the pain this weekend. Think I was on the winning side for about 1 in 10 and yes I did end up AFKing because I was so fed up of being one shotted by Kaalakiota Bolt Pistols.

Look at the large corps and the fits they have migrated too. Its cal ass. Even certain ethnic corps famed by their Minass spam have converted to Calass.
Is it just coincidence? or has the large group chasing the new fotm jumped on the bandwagon to "fix sheilds" in their favor.
Seems all to familiar, but what do i know, i am just a casual scrub. |
