Reviewing this Shield Tanking thread from august 2014
https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=164839&p=10
A new low slot shield module may prove useful.
A percentage based increase to both shield HP and shield Recharge
(Shield Amplifier)
Basic: 10%
Enhanced: 15%
Complex: 20%
perhaps with stacking penalties, or perhaps without
Next, buff shield regulator shield delay bonus higher.
I was against it then out of fear shields would later get nerfed back into the ground if we had shield delays less than 1 second.
If its decided that shield delays of less than 1 second are ok for a PURE shield tank, then i'd suggest buffing the shield delay attribute on shield regulators to 40%, 45% or 50% for complex shield regulators.
for reference a cal assault using three complex shield regulators at 40% would give a 1.3 second shield delay. |

well heres the thing, if there was a limit of only one per suit it, it means yes that shield tankers can get more shield HP at the cost of a low slot. that means no plate.
right now i could take a cal assault and brick it to 634 shields and 639 armor. Isnt that near sentinel HP already? This would give more shields, but less overall HP.
and even if you did have more than one of these on a suit, it means you dont have any shield regulators, and now shield regulators and no plates means that youd be screwed by the fisr ScR or flux that hits you.
but anyways.... it was an idea. thats all, that follows a similar concept of the Power Diagnostic System from Eve. that said, the % value should reflect that more.
heres a link of the actual EVE item item

In the top 10 most bought suit alone shields have 66% of the suits bought. They also have have higher kds. If anything shields need a nurf.

most cal suits are used for sniping, that's why the KDR is so high. And sniping offers noobs a better return on their investment.
Cal commando has the highest KDR in the game, but have you actually tried using it for anything other than sniping? |

Yeah, i'll admit I snipe in cal suit's, their all I really got, just started on Cal Scout, already have cal commando (my biggest waste of investment), so yeah, would definitely love to actually take damage and dish it at the same time as an armor fit would. Glass cannon's are best in game's that are RTS (real time strategy), and can be supported by your own massive amounts of troops, since that is not the case, and teamwork is at an all time down (with the exception of pro corps rocking together), things aren't good for caldari or shield tank in general, (also cal logi is apparently a grenadier suit, just logging grenades constantly, so take them from the equation as well).

The Caldari assault has the highest kdr of all the suit and has over a third of bought suits. This means it's the most used and powerful kdr wise. So your telling me 1/3 of the deaths are coming from snipers recently.

How many kills total were made with cal assault? And how many deaths?
Vs everything else.
You can't say the KDR is representing actual combat use. We know the KDR is high but no one can say how the suit is being used. Just like the cal commando KDR says it must be OP.
Another thing that may or may not be related to cal assault use is that cal fw is currently very strong. Gallente is getting murdered right now which might cause more people to think caldari is strong at the moment.
All I'm going to say though is that if you're playing solo, you might consider redline sniping. And if you do, you may want lots of damage mods. Cal assault offers plenty of highs for damage mods. |

I would say this module is too powerful. Shields dont need to be able to do what armor can do. They need to do what they do better.
Also @Deeze, Shield suits have higher KDs because they stay at long range -- they are so squishy that they HAVE to. |
