Perhaps it would solve many current problems of the game (Abandonment of battles, ignore the objectives etc ..)

K/D is dumb. Granted. However, W/L is worse by far. Why? Because Scotty.
Some other games don't count a loss if you enter a match in progress that ends in a loss. That would help.
More ISK would definitely help. Getting a decent amount isn't possible below 8th place. So many just leave the battle early, no sense in staying around since you aren't getting enough to pay for one fit anyway.
Not to mention showing up in a pub match against Q-synced squads with PRO gear. Yep, matchmaking in Icelandic doesn't mean the same thing to us Mercs it would seem.
Oddly enough I proposed this nearly two years ago. They didn't listen then, so don't hold your breath.
My favorite tank is a Lightning. Just sayin.

Better yet, throw in an additional stat telling everyone how many battles you left before they were completed.
It's nice to know that a player has a 100:3 win/loss ratio. But when you look under the hood and see that the player has left 97 battles before they were completed, suddenly you get a different and negative picture of that player. With stats like that, the player could potentially have a win/loss ratio of maybe 1:1 assuming that the 97 battles that the player left before completing were all losing battles.

The Dust Dev team was different two years ago compared to now. CCP Rattati was not in charge and CCP Jian didn't know what he was doing as an EP. It's possible your idea may get traction this time. Just look at Aero Yassavi and Avallo Kantor and their idea that addresses suit progression and memory usage.

If the aim of this discussion is to encourage people to head for objectives, then we could ask CCP to implement other stats such objectives hacked per match, installations hacked per match, or something like those.

But you're ignoring the apparent problem with that statement. We are mercenaries. Not all of us is interested in being dignified and a lot of us are focused on making the most profits with minimal losses.

Totally agree. I forgot that we are mercenaries. And quite right in what you write. We can not even wait dignity in war. The war is unworthy. Still, I like to give an idea that could improve the quality of play.

Which is why isk payout needs to have more to do with actually doing something, rather than dossing about waiting for the match to end.
However I don't think stats and leaderboards are the way to do it... There's about 10 people at the top of the leaderboards who care about the leaderboards... There are far more people who don't.
I honestly think payouts should be based on how much damage you've done to the other teams clones &/or MCC.
I also think wp payouts badly need re-doing, as they are not balanced against each other even mildly well...
Possibly giving a partial refund of assets lost in the match, should only be given to the winning team, this would be an incentive to actually push the crap out of the objective in a close battle, rather than just sitting back and saying "well, we'll get a decent pay, but we wont get much if we lose more crap in one last push!" |
