Hello
I haven't played Dust in a while, apart from logging In the other day to try the game out a bit.
However I have been following the news of the Dust's development though the forms and such. The news of PC 2.0 has made me seriously consider coming back to the game. However there's one or two things I would love to see implemented in Dust for PC 2.0. Before I stopped playing Dust I took part in a few PC matches, some which even included EVE support from my Alliance.
The main problem I found with PC in Dust, is that during the set up in the Warbarge there was little to help teams plan for the match. Most of the time teams had to guess the map before they entered the battle. Even if people knew what map it was they would have to plan the attack with the rest of the team, while thinking of the map layout from memory.
What would be great is if player had the ability to open the battle map while in the Warbarge. This would allow them to see the layout and plan the course of action with members of their team. Squad leaders could even lay down markers showing where to go.
It would be fantastic if a marker system, that is like the squad waypoints, was implemented for the battle map. Waypoints would be fantastic for planning but if they stayed on the map and HUD while the player was in battle that would be amazing. It would be cool if is the person who is chosen to plan and lead the battle for his team was able to set down these waypoints for each squad.
The second problem I found with PC was from the EVE side. When we had PC battles I was sometimes able to provide EVE Orbital support for my corp. Getting a ship and ammo wasn't a problem.
However getting to the location and having alliance or corp members find out if there was a battle was. If I was to provide orbital support, my corp or alliance members in Dust had to type out the name of the planet and district. This proved to be some what of an annoyance and time consuming for some people. What would be nice is if Dust players could have the ability to auto link the District they are fighting on in chat. This would save a lot of time and allow for faster coordination between Dust and EVE.
One massive problem facing the EVE and Dust link, is the fact that EVE players in the same corp or alliance as us never knew when a battle was happening, or where for that matter. The only occasion when we got orbital support from our EVE alliance members was randomly during the EON war. Two alliance members were looking around at the Dust districts in MH, and happened to come across ours during the middle of a battle. Thankfully they stayed with us for and provided support for the next two battles after that.
It would be nice if EVE players in the same corp or alliance got notification mails warning that a district was under attack, when the Dust players were getting ready for battle in the Warbarge. Much like the system in place for when stations or other structures came under attack in EVE. If the mails containing the message linked the district that would be super handy for pilots who intend to reach the location.
I know that the Dust team in Shanghai don't deal with the EVE side of stuff, but if the team in Iceland are able to implement this there is a possibility you would see more coordination between Dust and EVE players.
If I could get a response to this post that would be awesome.
Thanks for reading.

I had this exact problem with our corporation, so I built a website to try and help resolve this. It lets EVE players see when your defense timer is coming, so they can support. It is also useful for Dust players that are away from their PS3 http://www.dusttimers.com/
One limitation is that it only shows defense timers, not timers for districts you are attacking. This is a limitation of the API as it doesn't show WHO is attacking a district.
