Thought about this forever, and I know I got it and you'll love it .. ready? Shields even with a buff.. 60 adv-90 proto hp- keep getting raped regardless what u use to do it.. so hows about.. Armor based weapons start taking off armor first until depleted then u start taking shield when engaging an enemy.. & Shield based weapons start taking off shield ... then armor as they do now makes u have to plan better... every battle would be different not knowing what should u stack .. shield or armor.. n who your gonna go against an armor killer or shield killer
what yall think>?

bad idea armor weapons will have a huge advantage it doesnt take many shot from a CR or RR to kill an armor based suits shield
im just a scrub here, to u know, do things helpful like ummm commenting,complaining,and giving terrible advice thats it

Doesnt really fit with the mechanics of the game. How would 'bullets' pass through the shields doing no damage (not really damage more like reducing the energy of the shields as they deflect the bullets) and then do damage to the armor, and then all of a sudden start dealing damage to shields once armor is depleted even though they magically passed through the shields before? |

what would be the point of having shields around my suit if weapons could hit the armor directly anyways?
oh, and take into consideration sniper rifles. and commandos.
i specialize in light attack vehicles.
or what most beta vets call a "murder taxi"

There's a bleed through effect in Eve. I would like to see armor damage when the shields are at 25%. When you hit 25%, half of the incoming damage hits armor, half hit shields. This would be a bit of a buff for shield users because it would effectively add 25% more hit points before you reached 0 shields.

This actually hurts shields more than armor, since shield suits have crappy armor regen, you are essentially exposing them to having their armor stripped away vs. any anti armor weapon for a couple of minutes or more, leaving them crippled in the long term in terms of EHP (even more so than shield tanking makes them by default).
This actually exacerbates one of the big imbalances between shield and armor tanking styles: that shields regardless of fit have a functional regen rate, but armor has absolutely horrible regen rate unless you fit modules. |

Actually this was done in a game called "Section 8" a sci fi game for the Ps3, if you got in close enough, weapon's in that game could deal damage to armor but if you were too far away the damage would only be dealt to shield, quite ingenious the OP, however it was poorly illustrated
Another point to add is that you could simply remove shield's from gallente and amarr, they don't use them (module wise), and it WOULD actually shorten TTK, and slightly help caldari variant weapon's, but if they started fitting shield modules, whatever amount that shield module has, is the amount that's received.
Actually I think that would add another tactic to the game, all thing's considering the shield is the only thing that keeps high Armor suits from being 1 shotted (seemingly or otherwise). It would also force players to use less damage mod's which is a coherent problem with high alpha weapons, suits like minmatar and caldari would keep their shield's, and voila armor and shield balanced around a new overall type of gameplay, (would this technically apply to vehicles? As they are in fact much larger and probably have the excess storage for an innate shield generator? Talkin' about armor tanks).
