I was happy when I learned of this new mode, and it was fairly fun to play. As one may expect, players were soon talking about ways to improve it. A couple players have suggested that it would be a good idea to switch the objective quicker to keep it moving and prevent camping, making this mode live up to its full potential. I thought that I ought to post my ideas. Sorry in advance if someone else thought of these first:
- Installations falling on the new point- Rushing the new point is always, fun, giving the losing team a chance to get ahead, dig into the point, and possibly change the direction of the game. I think it would be even better if installations fell from the sky whenever a new point was selected. It gives the first team there a chance to get an advantage for rushing there first. If it is in a building, they could land outside, or not at all, but it would be cool if a turret or supply depot fell through a hole in the roof. I am not sure how many or what kind of installations should come to any given point, maybe it could be up to chance. It will be like grabbing the neutral installations at the beginning of the match every couple minutes.
- New objective comes in a bit early- I think it would add a new strategic level to the game if the new point showed up at the same time that the old one went into double point mode. This would make players chose between getting a head start on the new point or getting the double points from the old one. The teams may split up, either by design or from lack of coordination. You will have to balance the risk of losing the double phase of the point against the reward of digging into the next one.
- Varying times- Right now, any given point has the same lifetime, five minutes. If this varied, it would make the mode cooler, at least in my opinion. It could vary in thirty second increments. For example, 2 minutes, 2 and a half minutes, 3 minutes, 3 and a half, or four minutes. It would also make it a gamble to head there early if there are 2 points at a time like I suggested above, but would still make it more interesting either way.
That's all that I thought of , and any criticism, complements, or feedback would be appreciated.
