I'm hoping someone can shed some light on the lore behind us clones by answering some questions.
- Who/what are we clones of? - Are we unique or do we all look the same? - When 150 clones show up to a battle, how does the MCC know which clones are of my merc, and not anyone else on the field? - Do we own a personal clones we keep on our Warbarge? How much ISK does one clone cost? - Do clones have souls?

My lore is a little shaky, but I've been around enough to hear lore discussions -Volunteers, I believe -It varies. Personal clones (Like what capsuleers have) are unique, but the ones we use for combat are all the same -See above. You order your fitting, the MCC or whatever stores clones slaps it on a generic male/female combat clone -See above, and the price depends on whether or not it's personal. Personal, nobody knows, combat, I'm sure someone in PC can tell you. -You are the soul. Until the sleepers rip it out of you

From my limited knowledge:
- Clones are basically us, just with implants that excell our learning, reactions and improve our combat effectiveness. However mortals have been known to take down clones.
- Leisure clones have their own unique looks where as Military clones are all the same. There is (or so i heard) also a voice implant that mimics what we think our voice sounds like.
- Pretty much we are just data that is downloaded and put into clones created by nanites. The MCC downloads us into them.
- I would assume we have personal clones, otherwise most the RPs on the IGS would not make sense. Neither would walking around in the Merc Quarters. I have nonclue how much they cost.
- Depends on who you ask. I think the Amarrians believe that we do have souls.

Your clone is unique because before that your were a mortal being.
All military clones are generic biomass that have no unique distinction between another to keep cost down.
All clones are assembled on site in the cru, the MCC and CRU only carry biomass to create the clone.
My best answer is most likely with the introduction on the personal warbarge.
Are your decisions in battle affected by emotion? You are your clone.

Interesting questions good sir. All your answers can be found here : https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Item_Database:Infantry_Gear:Dropsuits
I'll try to paraphrase somewhat.....
- Who/what are we clones of?
We are clones of individuals who exist in the New Eden universe. Those lucky [or unlicky], skilled, or rich enough to be selected to test and experimental cloning technology that allows for the implanting of a consciousness into another body.
- Are we unique or do we all look the same?
Yes. These are called 'Stock' or 'Combat' clones. They stand at a height of 2.5m tall, have a highl developed muscularity, reinforced bones, redundant organs, and other additional modifications on the human physiology to push them towards the peak of combat efficiency. In terms of appearance these stock clones are albino featuring pale pigmentless skin, red eyes, no hair whatsoever, and all featuring generic features drawn from an original clone.
- When 150 clones show up to a battle, how does the MCC know which clones are of my merc, and not anyone else on the field?
The overarching system TAC Net I would assume allocated clones to your specifically whenever your consciousness requests one be formed. Clones do not exists physically, instead they are created on site by Nanites in a process that usually takes about 15 seconds.
- Do we own a personal clones we keep on our Warbarge? How much ISK does one clone cost?
If you want you can I guess. There is no lore to suggest cloned soldiers cannot have personal clones that look like whatever they want them to. Be that their original appearance or something different, even biologically altered or of a different gender.
- Do clones have souls?
Big philosophical debate amongst the Amarr. That all depends on how your percieve the soul. When your clone dies your existing consciousness, aka the one you died with is not preserved, a new one is copied at the momment of your death and downloaded in to the implant. Technically you die every time but wake up in a different body with a new consciousness with the same memories and experiences as the previous one that was terminated.

Oblatory screw you True.... *puts on glasses* its actually a maximum of 10sec for CRU/MCC spawns while the uplinks have a 15sec timer for being "mobile"(rat man nerf them)

15 second thing is taken directly out of the lore in the link. Perhaps when a Drop Uplink is established TAC Net automatically receives and update and prepares clones for use prior to a players request thereby by passing the 15 second clone creation delay and instead preparing that clones over a number of seconds for teleport to the Uplink.

Awesome answers everyone!
Here's another one.
When not in a clone (dead) where is your consciousness? Let's say your team is cloned out, MCC and warbarge destroyed...
Is there some master database that stores every consciousness somewhere safe until another body is available?
Is there one master database? Or 4 racial databases? Or corporate databases? Or personal? ...
This one is bugging me

Your consciousness is downloaded back into TECNAT as True said.
Well I'm taking a while guess but I'm thinking its transmitted to the nearest station like it is in EVE
There are no master databases just a collective...think of the internet as an example.

I don't think there is any established cannon suggesting where you 'are' Templar One might describe it though.
I imagine your consciousness is being transfered, prepared, and re-written for a moment (that delay after termination your cannot skip) after which time you perhaps are based within the TAC-Net local systems pending a decision to deploy to a specific location.
If the MCC is destroy your are likely pulled from your existing clone and sent back to your 'main' clone in your Merc Quarters.
- Is there some master database that stores every consciousness somewhere safe until another body is available?
Again I don't think there is any cannon to suggest anyone else may have your mind map.......however........
Clones are/were initially produced by Genolution, a company if I am not mistaken with ties to the Jove. As such they might have a map of your consciousness. Otherwise if corporations produce their own clones they too might have maps of your mind.
Is there one master database? Or 4 racial databases? Or corporate databases? Or personal? ...
Again not wholly sure. Likely personal but you could RP otherwise.
