An idea that might have already been suggested before, but just in case..
How about a new high slot module to add to the mix and give people more options other than HP mods? I'm proposing a new high slot module that increases Bandwidth by a set amount.
Basic: +2 Bandwidth ~20 CPU, 2 PG Advanced: +4 Bandwidth ~30 CPU, 3 PG Prototype: +5 Bandwidth ~50 CPU, 5PG
Numbers are up for debate. Please discuss and thank you for reading !

You guys nailed it.
With tiercide on the horizon, I'm thinking of the players willing to sacrifice slots to get that second uplink down, or the dedicated sentinel that is willing to give up a slot to keep a lone piece of equipment out there.
Thanks for the positive feedback, keep thinking of new ways it could be used and what you feel about the numbers.

I'm not against improving the numbers, Forever ETC, it's just that you are bound to expect ADV to be at least 50% better than BASIC at less efficient fitting cost, and then PROTO to be only 25% better than ADV with similar or worse efficiency.
If you wanna go with 6 bandwidth added for proto, the others will have to change too, don't you think? Consider how weapons work, shield extenders, armor plates, uplinks.. etc

Megaman Trigger wrote:As an AV Sentinel, I very much like having access to a Nanohive for vehicle deterrent/demolition duty. If that can be my own, even better.
Overall, this is better than just giving Sentinel's an equipment slot.
Very much agreed Mega !

Break'n, do you feel that way even if it takes up a high slot?
Even at proto, 5 Bandwidth isn't even enough to fuel a compact nanohive. At the very most I would see it as used to round off certain bandwidth numbers to be more customizable. For example, if you have 12 bandwidth and want to set down 2 uplinks(4) and a compact nanohive(6), you need 14 Bandwidth. A basic module would take a high slot from your loadout for 2 more BW. It's half of the bandwidth for a single piece of equipment. At proto, 5 bandiwidth is barely enough to hold a single uplink, and is NOT enough for any of the armor repairing nanohives.
As far as heavy frame abuse, a player would have to go through great pains to set it up, hoping the equipment doesn't get destroyed while they switch fits, and actually survives long enough to be useful.
Thoughts?

Breakin Stuff wrote: drop uplinks. towers. forge guns.
The process would require starting in another suit with links, getting dropship, flying up to tower and setting it down. Then leaving to supply depot (or die). Then fly back up there or spawn up there in heavy fit that is gimped with 1 less high slot.
The heavy could fly directly to the tower in his dropship the first time around and be done with it, no?
Not to mention, if that uplink gets destroyed, he has to repeat the whole process.
I'm thinking more along the lines of someone who has many links out for their team, and needs to switch to a forge to fire on a tank, but all his links will pop. With a bandwidth mod, a single link could potentially survive.
Maybe I'm naive in thinking this isn't very abusable? Seems like a lot of work for little actual gain when going down the abusable paths.

Bright Cloud wrote:no cause you want it to be a highslot module. Armor suits have allready enough advantages no need for this to punish shield suit usage even more.
The very point of this was to create more high slot diversity. In other words, bringing down KingHP. There are a lot more useful low slots than high slots right now. KinCats, codebreakers, damps, 3 different types of armor plates, shield regulators, etc..
High slots have extenders, myofibs and damage mods.
I'm fine if you don't like the idea, really, that's what discussion is for. However "this hurts shield suits!" is probably the worst reason you could possibly give.
