Were vehicle mounted small turrets?
This would make drop ships effective against ground vehicles, particularly tanks.
It would be hard ( but feasible) to lock on to a tank with an ADS, and much easier for side gunners.
For balance, I propose tiny ammo capacity, say, 5 volleys or so (without ammo expansion).
The details would have to be ironed out, but what does everyone think of the idea in principle?

Lol. Not as dumb as your use of "literally".
Anyways, have you ever been in a DS dog fight? They couldn't really get much dummer --- Circle strafe around each other firing your missiles, trying to out climb the other guy, as soon as one person takes too much damage, retreat behind your MCC.
When ramming is the most viable DS vs. DS strategy then there's already a problem.
The idea anyways was more as an air-to-ground weapon. So you could make them not able to lock air craft... potentially

So you could make them not able to lock air craft... potentially I literally used the word literally in literally the exact way that I literally wanted you to literally perceive it. Like, literally I don't play much anymore but I have over 2 full years of DS flying under my belt. I have some idea of what I'm talking about. Dogfights are for Incubus, and it actually does take skill to land a kill. That's how you can tell pilots who know what they're doing vs those who don't. The ones who actually know what they're doing know that dogfights can be very short. The fact that you mention a missile dogfight kind of highlights your position in the matter. Good dropship pilots can handle tanks just fine as is, no need to add a silly mechanic like this to the mix. Bad pilots should be punished severely for being bad, it's bad enough how many wannabies are up in the sky as is.
Lol
Your two years of ramming people in your Incubus don't impress me.
As to your quip about missile dogfights "highlighting my position"... Rail guns are obviously the ideal weapon in a DS "Dogfight", however most ADS' are outfitted with missiles for anti-infantry, thusly this is how most ADS' encounter each other and how most ADS dogfights happen. Unless someone fits rails to specifically shoot down another ADS, in which case they have a distinct advantage.
But regardless, as long as both ADS' are fitted the same the "Dogfight" works the same way. Circle strafe shooting at each other until one DS has significant damage to be forced to retreat to the red line.
Regardless again, this was more intended as an air-to-ground weapon, so wouldn't even effect "dogfights"

Well I think the fact that you're constantly ramming into other dropships by mistake kind of highlights your position on this matter...
Look, I've shot down tons of pilots like you, with missiles and turrets both, and in numerous situations.
The fact is that DS "Dogfighting" is fundamentally wonky anways, it's like watching two Vietnam Era Huey helicopters trying to battle each other. Dogfighting is for fighters.
If you don't like the missile idea, then that's fine, but don't act like DS "dogfights" are some perfect art form in danger of being ruined.

Lol. Not as dumb as your use of "literally". No, it would *literally* be the dumbest thing ever. You'd have the equivalent to a Rocket Hog from Halo driving around with some f*cking blueberry (I hate blueberries with a burning passion), who cant and sholdnt be driving, that is chasing around a DS. The gunner (God bless his soul) would not be able to lock on the the DS, due to the blueberries inability to drive a simple LAV. If the gunner was lucky enough to get a lock, the LAV would hit a rock (gg driver), flip over, roll, and the gunner would fire his swarms, which would instantly hit the terrain and blow up, because he is upside down thanks to a lousy driver. This would happen *every single time*, I sh*t you not. Seriously. Do you know how many people cannot properly drive an LAV? It's saddening that nobody in the f*cking game can hold R2 and push a stick around to save their life. PSA: If you cannot effectively pilot any kind of vehicle, dont do it at all. Please. Literally *all* of New Eden is asking you to stay out of your vehicles if you cant properly drive one.
Thanks for the passionate comment, but I'm afraid this post literally has nothing to do with blueberries nor driving LAV's. I don't think you're in the right place
