Scrambler Rifle : Charge shot, with a brief followup. Overload the heat and user takes feedback damage. Heat buildup means you cannot fire the entire clip. Works best on an Amarr assaul suit, which can reduce heat buildup by 25% Damage Profile +20 vs shields - 20 vs armor, can go up to +35% vs shields at max profieciency.
Excellent for 1 vs 1 engagements at medium range, especially vs multiple lightly tanked enemies, such as scouts, and the caldari, the other long range suits.
Poor for sustained closequarter fighting, where the overheat becomes as dangerous as the enemies, which will lock you in place, or if your low on health kill you.
Because the weapon has so much nuance to it, rather than spray and pray many SCR users will defend it. It takes time to get used to, and rewarding once you get it down.
But i'm getting sick of the main motivation for forum warriors trying to nerf it, more or less along the lines of 'I don't like it nerf it.'
So Op, whats your plan? How do want it to be nerfed?

So Op, whats your plan? How do want it to be nerfed? If I were The OP, I would suggest more dispersion when hipfiring to discourage CQC. maybe increased charge shot damage but decreased normal shot damage to discourage spam. Combo of the two perhaps?
Actually...... why not? Increased kick certainly helped with the rail rifle close combat scourge.

For reference to those citing 1000 DPS Scrambler Rifles we are talking about the total Shield DPS modified by 3x Complex Light Damage Modifiers and your Weapons Proficiency Level 5 (possibly also the broken Augmented Ammunition Warbarge Slot). 35% of that damage is wholly weapon profile based and modified by your skills.
Also for reference the ScR without the warbarge modifier sits at 1164 Shield DPS while the Tac AR sits at 1090 Shield DPS.
I have to disagree with applying the charge mechanics of the Ion pistol here. The charge alone shot alone on every Scrambler is not enough to kill the majority of suits. With the exception of the least tankiest of scouts of course.
It places an unreasonably high expectation placed on ScR users to land a charge shot every few seconds, but not kill a targer, or try sustained fire, where it is out aclassed by the assault vairant.
Also, people have to list amor dps to get the fulll comparision. Source is proto fits for the armor DPS, because there are no skills to improve armor damage. Prof 5 ScR does the same armor damage as the stock rifle.
Tac AR does 1090 shield 657 armor dps ScR does 1164 shield 572 armor dps.

While I see where you are coming from I still believe that the charged shot could benefit from the short delay between having fired and follow up volleys and I see the manner by which the Ion Pistol handles it own charged shot to be quite elegant. I don't consider it an unrealistic expectation either.
While i defeintly don't want the seizure, what might be interesting is a short delay more akin to the charge up on the rail rifle rather than the the overheat and feed back damage of the Ion Pistol.
