If power cores come into play it will hurt apex suits and this is an issue for all of the time and\or money people put into these suits
I am sure that this is a concern for any serious apex user who trolls the forums
One balanced solution is apex teir weapons and modules which all Maintain a 5-7% boost over basic or some sort of odd stat difference like increased capacity or reload
Another is to have some of the gear as advanced tier and some basic
The last is to raise CPU\ PG stats on the suits
I figured to bring this to popular discussions so you could fight it out
There is also an alternative solution in which apex is a suit where you get an item bundle of bpos for everything it contains that was suggested
What do you think should be done?

It only hurts people who try to exploit the system by fitting gear above standard on it, which was unintended.

So running my Apex Atlas Sent. with a Boundless or Freedom HMG is wrong? I dont think so.

The original idea for APEX suits was, in my humble opinion, to test the waters for tiericide. Aka see how a suit with proto slot layouts but std mods/pg/CPU would be received.
Powercores, in that light, simply expand on the tiericide to all, with added performance implications due to a drastic reduction in suit objects. An APEX suit can still exist in a powercore world, but they would simply be free pre-fit std suites with a "bonus" skin.
They were never intended to be an "advantage" in anything besides ISK because they came preoutclassed by proto / adv. they still keep that ISK savings though, so no loss there.

Apex suits do get BPO modules, unlike standard BPOs. You save on those for what it's worth.

While I might agree,,,then CCP should have thought before they acted.
They could have possibly locked down the weapons assigned and opend up the mods. Not a very hard fix.
I hope they stay modifiable long enough to sell all 7 of my apex suits.

Rattati's been staring at dropsuit stats for a year now, as well as playing the game. Also, it's not as if his are the only set of eyes at CCP looking at this .Unexpected or unintended? Neither, imo.
It was instantly obvious to players what this would mean for APEX suits, and the CPM would have caught this as soon as they laid eyes on it.
So yeah. No.

No. I think they figured it was something they had to see in the wild. A lot of stuff in this game came from just trying something out.
Look at Myos, they were useless and even though it seemed like a bad idea to let people run up to five of them, they did it anyway. After seeing it in action they limited it to 3 per suit.

This isn't true.
The stacking penalty never worked as intended with the myo's. They were never supposed to grant the jump height they did.
Rattati admitted they can not locate the coding error, so were forced into the 3 myo limit as a work around.
I have no idea what you mean when you say "a lot of stuff".
As far as the Apex, of course CCP new what allowing them to be modifiable would do. Every player certainly did.

APEX suits will still have value in free prefit slots, but yes they will be relatively less beneficial to regular BPOs. And I mean, sorry, but it would be stupid to let APEX suits get in the way of vastly improving the game.

No. It was clearly listed in the patch notes that apex suits became moddable because they wanted to give players the option to rearrange logi gear, and swap out standard weapons. For example, taking out an assault rifle and putting on a shotgun.
There are already several ideas that rattati says he's looking at to stop people from throwing proto on apex suits. I know for sure he wanted to add a meta level cap on them, but power cores might make that unnecessary.

CCP and CMP should predict this.
What will happen if player will get ability to modify apex suit, including bonuses (like pg/cpu upgrade)?
Answer. People will fit adv/complex mods with adv guns.
Not that hard to predict.

I think there's a lot to be determined still. The whole Power Core idea is far from being officially implemented.
In theory, assuming this change happens, couldn't an APEX suit have it's power core locked in, so that it can't be altered? Then the suit wouldn't function any differently.
