I actually like the lore aspect of this game a lot. The "new rules" are making it very difficult to be Caldari. Also I like to be fast and shoot and run into small battles and run out. They've completely changed this, because ... Now Caldari have to fight from a distance? Is it like this in EvE? Is that where the rules say we have to fight from far away and still get cut up?

Caldari do not do short range particularly well in EVE..... to be frank I've never seen a Caldari Ship that wanted to fight within Scram-Kiting Range.... except maybe a 'Blarpy' [Blaster-Harpy].
Once you pin them down Gallentean will ******* tear Caldari ships in half with insane DPS blaster fire, Minmatar are likely to do the same, even in my experience most Amarr ships within Scorch range with rip the shields of Caldari apart with little trouble.

I don't think CCP has shields as their priority right now. I like to think that they are working on fixing bugs secretly and trying to fix the degrading master code that has plagued DUST since it's conception. I don't know if they are per se, but I like to think that.
I just wish shields were in a better state, it is hard to be assault right now, and there is no forseeable way that'll make me dual tank.
I don't think Caldari of old fought from a distance, despite the Sniper Rifle and possibly Forge, most Cal-Tech is mid range, but it is difficult because of this stupid state we are in. The ScR buff was one of the most horrific nerfs to the Caldari IMO, though I do remember the old days when the AR reigned violently.... |

Anti armor guns are more common because there is not only more armor based suits on the field, but also because anti armor guns are better at shreading shields than anti shield guns are at shreading armour.
So.. anti armor guns > anti shield guns 80% of the time. With exception for HMG, ScR, SR and BP. They feel like if they had 100% on both shields and armour.

Minmatar Scouts & Logis are both the only frontline suits that have had zero adjustments to basic stats in 2 years.
Min Scout: extremely high run speed, suffers with no absolutly ewar.
For 2 years was under 'stop and drop' aka stunlock conditions. This suit has never been balanced with basic suit stats.
Min Logi:
Was never involved with 'slayer logi era' and is the only front line logi directly in the fight. This suit has never been balanced with basic suit stats. Now, the first to die to Re's (yes, still) MD Spam and single shotted by a shotgun that has times the *FOUR range table it should have, subsequently comparing it to the sniper rifle that has been reduced by 78% of real world values.
When it comes to Cal Assaults, I look straight at the female frame Caldari Assault & Caldari Scout hitbox changes and it shows in the armour being splinted just like a Minmatar suit. Just because something is not apparent or showing, in error, does not mean that there is no error.
Suggestion? Full Teiricide, and the deployment of Cores and upgrade teirs into Command Modules. Drop this piece of **** engine, port to PS4. Job Done.

I do this with 3 damage mods. Pretty beast with a logi. I've tried some different shield fits though haven't had nearly as much luck. Sure that quick regen is nice, though it's hard to justify going full shields at the sacrifice of extra damage output when many of the other suits you go against are stacked with defenses and that attack power.
I can generally end an engagement fast stacked with armor, where with a shield fit I spend more time running away desperately trying to keep shields regenerated only to have them drop in half a second. Play with a logi and this build is beastly.

Lol really ccp frame had to make his own suit because he knows how Pitiful any cko shield stacking is its regen that helps up but shield resistance is garbage atm. I find myself hybrid stacking or regen stacking id sa either the cal need a speed buff or better shield regen.

Caldari Close range vessels typically use Missiles, and a purpose built platforms...Siege Ravens, Variations of HAMGus, and HAM Drakes...all of which mount truly massive shield tanks, with a prop mod to help them close the distance...Siege Ravens are typically only used for Starbase Bashing...when you feel like spending lots of ISK to get it done marginally faster than a laser boat will for free though.
But yes, the far more common setups are built for Kiting in some way or another, but almost all mount hefty shield tanks with enough eHP to withstand a tremendous amount of punishment
Khanid Logi and Tanker, sometimes AV Heavy or Sniper.
