Just like the anime thread that deals with all things anime, this deals with all things music.
Got any new bands you like that aren't ****? Want to list your favorite songs/bands? Want to discuss new album drops? Discuss anything music related? This is your thread.

What I've been listening too lately.
Turbowolf Little Foot Long Foot The Wans Stonefield The Frames - Glen Hansard is a genius Royal Blood Queens of the Stone Age/Kyuss/The Dessert Sessions/Eagles of Death Metal
Slipknot's latest album hits pretty hard for me as I can relate to losing great people in my life.
Looking forward to the new Rob Zombie's album Spookshow International Live.

White Rabbit has to be my favorite Egypt Central song, it is pure addiction. Although i say that about all their songs.

The Hunting Party is pretty beast. Most of the songs on it are great, even got them guest appearances like from rap legend Rakim.

Not typically into the Heavy Metal kind of stuff but I have to go along with Rise Against, Three Days Grace, Shihad, Breaking Benjamin, etc.
Though I really like a weird collection of things from OST's through 30 Seconds to Mars, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and through into the classics from the 20-50's.
For the longest time I was practically obsessed with the songs Injection, Rise Against and False Pretense, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

I'm more into Punk that I am into metal, but lately there havnt been any good punk bands to come out since the 90s and early 2000s. And no I do not consider Green Day Punk. Those fools were lucky to be inducted into the Hall of Fame IMHO.
What got me into metal was actually going to Mayhem Festival in 2009 while I was visiting some of my cousins in the States. They were going to Mayhem so I tagged along. The pits were more intense than at punk shows and I had an amazing time moshing to Manson and Behemoth and Killswitch.
I've seen Devilskin live when they did their free show in Auckland, really wished I could of gone to Motley Crue and Alice Cooper when DS opened for them. Unfortunately I was working a nightshift.

I am utterly sad that Adam Gontier left Three Days Grace, even though I completely understand the reason. He is one of my favorite singers.
Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars, a **** ton of OST, Pokemon Re-Orchestrated, instrumentals to classical like Bach, Mozart, Pachelbel, Beethoven, and among a wide array of other stuff.
I can't stand the deeper metals like Death Metal, Black Metal, Thrash Metal, Deathcore and stuff like that.

lol, it was actually the original music thread that inspired the anime list thread.
Lemme just drop a few songs here for people to check out, feel free to let me know what you think, they'll range from rock to rap to dubstep, I'll label each link accordingly.
Let's stat things off with a Jazzy Female Rapper
Then, proof that Skrellex and take a turd and make it decent.
Don't give up on me yet, no one likes someone whose too Fragile. *Dubstep/rap*
Everyone wants to feel close to someone, feel there fire, there energy. It's Powerful. *I've no idea what to label this, pop maybe? lol*
I'm sure some of you will enjoy the smooth and elastic beats of Matsiyahu. *Again, no idea what to label this, probably soft rock?*
How many links have you seen so far? You may need to take a break and try some Medicine. It'll pump you up with it's awesome Dubstep beat with lyrics.
Ever seen Tohou? Ever wanted to see them dance a song that makes no lyrical sense but makes you shake your ass anyways? Then look no further!
Some people don't need lyrics in there songs, just an awesome beat, and maybe a cool AMV to go with.
Do you like Green Eyes? Dubstep
How about Cocoa Butter Kisses? Rap
Felt like dropping a random AMV, it's awesome :3. Dubstep/rap
Now to end this list with a Disco song! |

Lately I have been listening to a lot of LIKE A STORM, a New Zealand metal band. They're brilliant mate. They put a Didgeridoo in one of their songs and it was fantastic. Just fantastic.
I also adore classical music, i don't care if that is weird for a man my age, music is music, it is transcendent, music is passion, music knows no age. My favorite classical piece would have to be Canon in D by Pacebel, and Requiem by Mozart.
I mostly listen to orchestral pieces, like anime OST's and classical and all that stuff. I barely listen to music with lyrics except LIKE A STORM. |

I may dislike some pop and all death/black metal. But you can not sit there and call any sort of music crap. Music is subjective, like art, your ass may not like it but someone else may. Stop being a snob and learn to actually enjoy music, not the **** your daddy told you about. |

So yea, I don't like formula music. I enjoy the hell outta music, part of the fun is finding that song that hits me just right usually action sports edits have the best music for instance: https://vimeo.com/56573339 So when I call myself a snob its because I know that's how people feel about me when I get in a music conversation because I have very very specific tastes and will not settle for uninspired formulas made to take money from the sheeple.

Huh, a music thread. Well, I'm bored, and I got a whole plethora of musical tastes, so I could give a few songs.
I'll try to keep it to a minimum per genre.
R&B/romantic Secret Garden Quincy Jones Marvin Gaye Sexual healing
Oldies (I think) Love how you love me Paris Sisters In the shadow of the Valley What? I like it
Country? Stardust Willie Nelson Danger Zone Archer version Like this version better
Rock/Metal Demon Hunter Dead Flowers Bad Girlfriend T.o.a.D money for nothing Dire Straits Great flying song
Japanese IA a realistic logical ideologist
Rap Big Krit Soul food Pray The Game
Needless to say, I listen to pretty much every genre. I also tried to avoid bands and singers others would already know (well, more towards the end, tbh) I got much more being as I'm a total music junkie.
