Not quite sure what you're getting at here...

World of Tanks gave beta testers a premium tank, a one off version of a paid money tank, one off meaning it acts like you bought it with real money but it is not available for purchase, only beta testers can own them. It makes more money for fighting battles and costs much less to repair.

Eve has "Decorations" which are medals associated with your character that you can create to give out to members of your corp. A special "MPT Veteran" medal could be made, assuming that Dust will have this feature as well. But I think it would need to be highly visible to be worth while to most.

The problem with a special dropsuit or equipment is it would get destroyed in matches.

Not asking for any items, equipment, or anything "consumable". A few extra markings on anything we already wear with the option to toggle it on/off is all I'm asking for.

The medal is a cool idea too.

I think it was the Mordus Legion who poineered the Dust merc thing wasnt it so mabye a Mordus legion emblem on either the armor or on the characters shoulder not a tradional mordus legion but mabye a modified varient or a makeshift look perhaps??

As for the World of Tanks reference - the tank that alpha testers received was a Panzerkampfwagen V-IV. Basically a PzKpfw IV turret on the chassis of a PzKpfw V Panther. In-game, it acted like a very-slightly upgraded PzKpfw IV. Better in some respects, worse in others - better mobility and ever-so-slightly improved armor (85mm compared to 80mm), but it could not mount a better gun.

Something like that would easily translate to DUST 514, should the developers decide to go down that route. Make the beta suit visually interesting and give it slight advantages in some areas and slight disadvantages in another, making it both better and worse than the standard militia drop suits.

I completely support some unique vanity item that can be equipped on any loadout. I just want something to say "I was here before most people" Also, it must not have any advantage other than being stylish. Because I completely support CCP's idea of DUST not being pay to win (I would feel like a dirtbag if it turns out to be a pre nerf swarm launcher)

I got it! All our militia gear gets a fancy name and model. It would still be militia in stats and all functions, theyd just look cool!

I like that idea you have there but mostly the idea of the "Veteran" assult rifle got me thinging,

What if we had a choice to make our armor any type of armor that aint already a themed one a veteran verion of the armor which looks like its being through the wars and in general seen alot of strange tactics such as the swarmers, the strafers, the heavy camping, ect it would actualy reposent weve done and have had it done to us so ye dont have to

Mabye if it that a slight reduction to armor to reposent how battered it looks as a trade off for mabye weapon damage bonus or such but it should be balenced not making it more powerful simply making it have a different feel or am i over thinking it

Hmm, now that's something I hadn't considered. Just a little icon in the corner of our profile picture. It'd show up when anyone looked us up to check our rep and stats, and on forum posts. That might just be enough to be functional and about the right level of benefit.

It would be next to your character name either in-game, or when you went to the scoreboard.. it's perfect :-P

Alright, I feel that this needs a bit of a clarification.

This thread is not asking for a unique weapon, dropsuit, equipment item, consumable, or any time of usable item in-game. There is no request for a "Beta Only" gun or armor, no request for any item in any way, shape, or form. If it goes into a suit / vehicle fitting, then you're doing it wrong.

I'm asking for one or two extra markings on the armor we wear with NO MODIFICATIONS AT ALL. Example:

I throw on a Militia Assault Suit. Because I was in the Closed Beta Testing, I have the option to turn on an extra feature, let's say it's a picture of bear claw marks on my face. This has NO EFFECT on ANYTHING I do. I still get rapetrained by some guy in full proto.

Let's put it another way - I'm asking for a magnetic bumper sticker for my car. It doesn't make my car go faster, save gas, give it more horsepower, or anything. It just looks pretty. I can rip it off if I want to and put it back on later if I so choose.

There was also the suggestion of a medal in our profile. That would be just fine too.

I'd be happy with the symbol of the Jove Empire on our suits/tanks.

Afterall, we'd be (afaik) the only players in the whole EVE universe (aside from possibly devs) with that logo on our assets then Special enough ?

How about an avatar that occasionally bugs out and flies off into the sky.

I don't like the idea of a modified avatar while fighting, simply because when you're in a gun fight, you're not looking to see what the other person looks like. You're just trying to drop them before they drop you.

I wouldn't turn down some sort of acknowledgement on my Character Sheet though. I really like the idea of a medal

A SOLID GOLD DROPSUIT OR CHROME SOMETHING THAT SAYS "I WAS THERE" sure you would look like a massive target but people would think twice before shooting you

I would tell you all of my ulterior motives, but that would only hinder my march to world domination.

I joined up as a beta tester to test the beta. I've been giving feedback, suggestions, and a touch of obligatory forum trolling. As an Eve player (and mentioned earlier in this thread), ISK is at the top of everyone's priority list, and reputation sits at a close second. Our paychecks are going to be signed by Goonsw- corporations and alliances, and our reputation will be made there. I'm just asking for the people who actually tested the game to get a bit of extra recognition for making this game a major competitor to other FPS'es.

Also, world domination, but you'll hear more about that on national news in... a few months

Well they could give us a vanity item that fits over our armour but is not an armour in its self. I've noticed that there is a slot in the fitting screen at the very top, I have yet to find a drop suit that allows you to put modules in that slot. Maybe this slot is for shoulder pads and the like. This vanity item would be a BPO of course. Though thinking about it it could just be for implants and such.

Well rumor is that Quafe is made of Tobacco and garbage so whether it is really food is up for debate.

according to evelopedia Quafe+ is made of biomass which is used to make clones (in other words Human Flesh)

biomass, is not human flesh, its just protein, basically you can look at it like this its jellied protein, in star trek they use it in the food replicators, in eve its used to create various foods or is put into a cloning tank to form new clones.

Yea, at launch we lose our characters and have to start over.

I'd like something on the actual suit, something we can bring into battle, like a patch or a helmet or something. You know, give the snipers something to aim at.

Give it a backstory, something along the lines of "the conscious of this soldier has shown more promising attributes than the regular soldier usually exhibits. Fascinated by this difference, mental sensors have been added to his/her dropsuit to extract performance data in hopes of improving future soldiers."

I quite like the back story option, i don't want anything big, a medal because then i can gloat, i also like the idea of a icon or decal on our armor but that may make us a target but who isn't up for the extra attempted head shots :)
