It would be cool but i think i heard somewhere these character are going to be reprossesed at launch i wonder will there be a back story behind it like all the alpha clones were terminated or died off of genetic break down?? mabye we could have a medel in our merc quaters when we create the launch characters??

Not quite sure what you're getting at here...

World of Tanks gave beta testers a premium tank, a one off version of a paid money tank, one off meaning it acts like you bought it with real money but it is not available for purchase, only beta testers can own them. It makes more money for fighting battles and costs much less to repair.

Eve has "Decorations" which are medals associated with your character that you can create to give out to members of your corp. A special "MPT Veteran" medal could be made, assuming that Dust will have this feature as well. But I think it would need to be highly visible to be worth while to most.

The problem with a special dropsuit or equipment is it would get destroyed in matches.

Not asking for any items, equipment, or anything "consumable". A few extra markings on anything we already wear with the option to toggle it on/off is all I'm asking for.

The medal is a cool idea too.

I think it was the Mordus Legion who poineered the Dust merc thing wasnt it so mabye a Mordus legion emblem on either the armor or on the characters shoulder not a tradional mordus legion but mabye a modified varient or a makeshift look perhaps??

As for the World of Tanks reference - the tank that alpha testers received was a Panzerkampfwagen V-IV. Basically a PzKpfw IV turret on the chassis of a PzKpfw V Panther. In-game, it acted like a very-slightly upgraded PzKpfw IV. Better in some respects, worse in others - better mobility and ever-so-slightly improved armor (85mm compared to 80mm), but it could not mount a better gun.

Something like that would easily translate to DUST 514, should the developers decide to go down that route. Make the beta suit visually interesting and give it slight advantages in some areas and slight disadvantages in another, making it both better and worse than the standard militia drop suits.

I'd like to rub it in peoples faces that I was in the closed beta when this game goes live. Any chance on a special vanity item for beta'ers? Fancy helmet or something?

Figured I'd use the wording "rub in people's faces" instead of "show that I was part of the development process", since that'd be what it was mainly used for :v

EDIT: As I think about this more and more, I realise some people might not want special markings. Maybe add an option "Beta Vanity" [On/Off] to the options menu. If a non-beta tries to toggle it, give an error message.

I completely support some unique vanity item that can be equipped on any loadout. I just want something to say "I was here before most people" Also, it must not have any advantage other than being stylish. Because I completely support CCP's idea of DUST not being pay to win (I would feel like a dirtbag if it turns out to be a pre nerf swarm launcher)
