454 damage... nearly 100 less than my old melee fit. That's 3 hits for the average proto assault, and 4 for just about every sentinel around. With melee hit detect still absolute **** (Had a match the other day where I punched a militia fit 3 times while he was standing still hacking a point and he only took damage from 1 out of those 3 hits) this little change means quite the difference in a playstyle I've been enjoying for over six months now.
*Sighs* I seriously hope this is temporary and that they can make the stacking penalty work for the jump height. This is literally one of the last if not the only playstyle I enjoyed in this game. I've been collecting Kubo's scrambler pistols for kitten's sake, JUST to try and enjoy that space cowboy playstyle that I used to back before the standard and assault were nerfed to absolute ****. Meanwhile, the BP can easily two shot my 800 HP Gallente Commando...
Least the bright side of the matter is that I won't be seeing any more of those little jumping beans with the Plasma Cannons and the Flaylocks... silver lining or not though, it was barely an issue before, with so few people actually using 4 or more that I rarely ever saw one... in fact, I've only encountered one of these since I've been back.

stacking should have worked on melee damage as well, anyway. Much better to just improve the damage per mod if we want to have more CQC capability.

Is that a plan then? I truly hope it is, for the sake of the actual melee fits. I never needed the jumping potential, but with the hit detection on melee as bad as it is, that 550 damage was a necessity. I've tried three modules on a Minmatar scout before for the same damage, 450, and so often, I'll "hit" someone three times, but only two of the hits will register, I'll die, and they'll live with just a bit of HP. Sentinels take four hits at that damage, which is way more time than can be afforded.

4 punches to drop a 1.2 K hp sentinel suit seems about right. Melee is a last resort, not the first one.

What Cat said. Melee is a playstyle as well, and when every hit you make costs a massive amount of stamina on top of having absolutely **** hit detection, four is far too many.
