No, cause it's a sidearm, there not meant to be powerful just as a last resort weapon when you run out of ammo in your main, if you want be a commando I stomp vehicles for a living :D

I didn't mean for it to be as powerful as a primary AV weapon, just a supplement to your primary. And it would serve the same purpose, run out of ammo, switch to your sidearm and try to finish it off if the things nearly dead.

I once faced a dropship with a flaylock. I actually managed to do enough damage to force the pilot to retreat (not close to kill it, but enough to chase him away). It was fun. But anyway, a sidearm shouldnt be able to take out a vehicle. |

That's screw with the Commando's AV role, screw with vehicle balance some more, and further invalidate actual AV by making general infantry have the ability to just equip AV in their sidearm and grenades (both useless things half the times imo) and not have to worry about vehicles.

One, commandos fulfil a role beyond AV. Carrying a long range weapon and a short range weapon to fulfil the need of the time. And regardless, 2 primary AV weapons would still be superior.
Two, I'm not saying these things are nearly as powerful as their bigger counterparts. Not to mention infantry running one would put themselves at a disadvantage when said weapon isn't needed. More like ultra light AV weaponry, killing a tank would be a very long and drawn out process.
And I don't think it would invalidate AV at all, if anything improve their capabilities and give them more options to work with, while putting them at a further disadvantage to conventional weaponry.
It's not THAT terrible of an idea(right?). No different than AI sidearms.

I'm not against it but I don't really see the purpose. How in New Eden does a pistol (since you said not proper large calibre AV weapons) or whatever damage tank armour?

I would love a black eagle swarm launcher
Basic damage, counts as a sidearm
And I would actually be able to defend myself from infantry

Why would it be in the Gallente LP store. The Gallente are the only faction in New Eden who do not, besides stealth bombers, have bonuses to Missiles.

Well, it doesn't damage it that much. Say like 150 to 200 a shot. And I dunno, specialized rounds that penetrate armor causing internal damage. It's the future after all.
Just something supplemental to the AV arsenal, as I feel they are lacking with just the nades and proxies (which need some loving). Plenty of times where I got a tank on the verge of death, where just that little bit of extra would of done the trick.
I imagine that you could start with your nades, pop a few with the sidearm, then finish it with your main for the range.

I like it but AV have a lot of opportunities already.....and there are other content features that kind of need addressing. But again I don't really have an issue with short ranged AV Side-arms unless they prove incredibly powerful.

Lol I love these people who want to be Commandos without actually being Commandos.

1: Most of the times Commandos are fitted with either a AV weapon and a AI weapon, or two AV weapons as far as I've seen. It's primarily a AV suit; there's pretty much no other suit that really does it better due to sustained DPS. Also, I said its role, I never said its only role.
2: Never said you did say that, they don't have to be. Them existing is the problem; a squad not only doesn't have to dedicate 2 of its members to well protect its squad from vehicle encounters. That objectively makes infantry much less weaker in general against vehicles, and gives pilots a much harder time getting around.
3: Your point is why it screws with the Commando's AV role (not sure why you can't see that, but whatever), and not only that, but a team doesn't have to dedicate people to AV anymore, rather it can just be a 2 per squad basis carrying these sidearms. AV wouldn't be needed anymore, they would be really hurting the team's effectiveness tbh.
