To clarify my standard tank fit is

There would be no problem in even a single hardener if it could buff your resistance to insane level, but also make you move at really reduced speed (similar to a full plated heavy).
So when you need, you can put your tank in siege mode.

Why bother? Dual hardeners are greater than all. Besides, speed is mostly for running away in a straight line. Using tanks with a controller is horrible. Only way to do it is with KB/M, in my opinion. |

Probably safe to say armor needs more of a drawback then. Like a stiffer movement penalty for plates, increased cool down time for hardeners, and reduced repair rate on reps.
Only slightly though, the above mentioned boring tank fit should still be viable, but not so much that it's what everybody flocks to.
Who cares what some sniper has to say.

If we could have those 100% overdrives back, then speed tanking would be viable.
Better yet, give us some kind of high or low slot module that adds 20% to acceleration and top speed. It would then be an interesting choice between hardeners and speed.

No hardener = pop against any kind of focused AV. Just traveling can get you killed. Losing 1.3 million ISK is lame, so people tend to stick with things that actually work :p

Well, I say AV are scums because when you face scum tankers like Duna, King HAK etc. almost no one play AV to counter them.
However when pilots use ADS or tanks for teamply lets say to remove campers from their roof, we take a salvo of a thousand swarms. Vehicles shouldn't be able to be invicible I agree. However the only interest I see in a vehicle is to be able to definitly remove the ennemy from a well defended position even if destroyed. It's the only thing they can't do ATM. However blaster maddys can farm infantry like nothing but remote explosives scouts... I don't call that balanced in any ways...

I run (or ran) some dual injector HAVs...never really bothered with the Heat Sink except on a Railgun Platform (Which I don't use much)...Blasters don't need the heat-sink to be effective, rails do, so I'd rather give my squad complex scans and mount more defense, with the solid offense provided by my trusty blaster (I do miss my railgun though)
Khanid Logi and Tanker, sometimes AV Heavy or Sniper.
