O.K., so let me get this straight. I have a Warbarge. On my Warbarge, I have a Lab to design experimental weapons. I am the one controlling said lab I would assume or I have hired someone to do it. Can someone explain to me why, with a lab I have complete control over, I can't decide WHAT I want the lab to make? It is completely random on what it pops out at any given time.
My Suggestion:
All Mercs should have the ability to choose what type of equipment they want the lab to make. They should be able to choose a category (Rail Rifle, HMG, SCR, Bolt Pistol, etc. for what I want to make). Then the "Lab tech" decides if it is going to be an Officer or Experimental Weapon. I am always hesitant to use Warbarge components on collecting items because there is a chance I will only really want 1 of the 4 and sometimes none of the 4.
If they want it as an option, you can pay the current WB components for a random or pay in advance extra WB components for a specific type. The lab tech designs whatever fits his fancy for one fee or will tailor it to your choice for an additional fee.
I know there will probably complaining about people having the ability to build up their arsenal of a specific weapon for protostomping or it will affect the trade market since now anyone can "print" their choice of weapon, so they won't need to trade. You can only make a max of, what, 4 a day (That is where I am and don't remember if mine is maxed or not)? 4 weapons is, often times, a single battle or even part of a battle so building a true arsenal to infinitely use would take an extended period of time and probably include trading. It may drop the price a little bit, but not significantly.
Thoughts and ideas?

I see what you are saying. But science and construction are totally different. I don't start building a bicycle and end up with a lawnmower. Now if I am pressing a button and letting the system randomly generate it, I can handle randomness. I guess I am going off the theory there is conscious thought because we are not talking a blowgun. There is some sophistication to these weapons where I doubt you will accidentally put parts together amd get a weapon that is better than is on the market currently.
