Question about these SKINs - do any of the skins have bonuses attached to the SKIN module? Attaching bonuses based on color was one of the original goals of SKINs along with increased performance. I am just curious if that factor made it into these modules or not.

I don't play EVE, so I looked up what they look like in EVE, and was surprised to find out I didn't hate the Imperial Navy EVE look. The EVE version has subtlety to the coloring. It isn't black and white, it's beige and black (sometimes it looks like a dark brown or blueish color). The Dust version goes for maximum contrast at the cost of nuance (seems to be a trend actually).
The Amarr heavy is very complex with lots of layers, pieces, nd straps, and the way its just slapped on in such a binary way ignores this complexity instead of complementing. Here is and EVE Imperial Navy ship, and, notice how the deep dark color gradually goes lighter on some of the pieces surrounding the darkest parts, thereby taking advantage of the visual complexity.
Comparison EVE, now Dust

The Amarr doesn't look correct, and looks boringly like the current AM assault. EVE AM ships look kind of beige with lots of gold, while this does not. Kador seems to be darker in Dust than in the EVE pic, but I like dark. I just hope it doesn't look too dark. Ishukone is good. Duvolle looks . . . eh. Feels like the brown part should be shiny and splotless, and really accent the dark base of the suit (like they do on the ship), but the light brown parts look dirty because camo print on them. Thukker scout is very good (though some in the Skype group I am part of disagree. Cat likes it, but Zaria doesn't). My only complaint is that the contrast between the colors of the camo print is a bit too high. I would suggest using brown instead of black, just like the EVE ship does. Blood raider looks decent, though doesn't capture the bloodstained splotchiness of the EVE ship. Maybe make the print less digital. Guristas looks good, though once again the contrast looks a bit high for my taste. Serpentis looks great. Angel Cartel looks alright, but Minmatar heavies already kind of looks like that, so personally I wouldn't buy it. Imperial Marine is ugly. The ornate and complex design of Amarr suits doesn't lend itself to such stark black/white coloring. A more in-depth look at the problems with it here. Republic Marine is alright, very Minmatar, but nothing really stands out about it. State Marine is good. It looks pretty badass. I look forward to seeing Nefantar, Krusual, Sarum, Tash-Murkon, Kaalakiota, and Nugoeihuvi. I'm looking for a good Minmatar and Amarr medium, and possibly a Caldari light.
Hey, I know you are one of the fashion moguls so I will answer without being defensive :)
Less stark colors tend to become a wash on the tv screen, that's clearly explained in the blog. Same goes for "in EVE" arguments, these SKINs are inspired by EVE, not just RGB color copies. Thukker and Guristas case in point.
This is our first venture into this realm, and I believe we will learn some things along the way.
Even if Kador looks like AMak.0, you can use the SKIN on any amarr frame of the same size, so increased utility overall. Same with Angel Cartel. Put them on your militia starter fit ;)
The Amarr Marine is, probably like all fashion, split into two camps. I, and everyone who has seen it, loves it. It may need to be seen in better lighting to appreciate the polished onyx of the plates.
Repubic Navy is a tan, light brown and green jungle camo. Not much we can do with it, but I love it because of how big the camo patterns are, and it's probably the first true jungle camo we have.
Duvolle, we based it off an older eve model, and not the new dark copper look. The old model had "dirty" textures on all the colors.
Am legacy is beige, tan and gold, not sure why that's not amarr. The legacy SKINs are meant to be fairly normal and representative for each Empire Faction, not trying to go crazy with these "classics" at all. The Red Minmatar is my favorite too, but since we already had very established gallente (creodron) colors on the weapons, it may be a little normal to some. They are also intended to establish the same color line across vehicles and weapons.
Hope that helps, and I think everyone can find a SKIN they like.

Wow that is one ugly suit.....
The transitions between the white and black are almost non-existent in this picture and under the lighting are too stark in real contrast to to really have any synergy. Also perhaps I am missing something but it looks odd aesthetically......

And I personally like the aesthetic of the Imperial marine Amarr suit, even if it's not super lore friendly, it almost makes my wanna slodge through a couple AFW.
Any chance you could update the thread showing the Federation marine colors as well? It's odd seeing parity in previewing for all the variants until the last bit where it only shows for the other three. Or is it just not ready yet?

I also don't mean to sound ungrateful but I'm looking at the Legacy Assault for the Amarr suits and cannot see any difference between it and the existing dropsuits barring what appears to be a slight glow.

I know it sounds like I'm being very critical, but overall I really like the skins.

Okey dokey proper feed back time.
I like 'em. That's right I said it I like them. They came out well I believe and will add some much needed aesthetic diversity to Dust as well as be a bit of a fashion statement that I think the entire community can recognise and get behind.
Of them I have some very clear favourites and some that I consider fashion faux pas on a scale I dare not utter lest you use the Viking Death Stare again.
I think particular mention is warranted for the Gallente "Legacy", "Ishukone" Medium Caldari, "Thukker" Light Minmatar, "Angel Cartel" Minmatar Heavy, "Blood Raider" Amarr Heavy, and "Guristas" Caldari Light.
Faction wise I have no doubt that the "State Marine" Caldari and the "Federal Marine" Gallente SKINS also will look wonderful.
Rating them by Race Top to Bottom Fashion wise comes down to a matter, for me personally, of which races have the more unique and interesting schemes as well show a bit of imagination.
Arranged from most fashionable and desirable in my opinion.
Gallente - See some nice variation getting the truest of the classic variations as well as a divergent "Duvolle" orange and a "Serpentis" Camo.
Caldari - Really come into their own with this release coupling the bronze "Ishukone" with the "Guristas" Camo and the Urban Blue "Marine".
Minmatar- While I started off shaky on their "Legacy" SKIN what really redeems this collection are the "Thukker" and "Angel Cartel" SKINs which look amazing. I was sceptical on the "Marine" SKIN but the more I look the more fond of it I grow.
Amarr- The "Legacy" and "Kador" SKINs offer no unique aesthetic traits, the "Marine" SKIN is a contentious subject of contention at present, redeeming feature of this collection is the, and I hate myself for saying this, Blood Raider SKIN which in my personal top 3.

Really love the Thukker and Ishukone ones. Guristas is pretty good too. Legacy Minmatar started growing on me after closer inspection as it wasn't really rusty brown as stated but more deep red.
For Marine skins, the State blew me away. Definitely blew me away.
Was expecting more out of the Republic Marines but maybe a look at a Republic Marine medium skin might change my mind. It looks like a cloth jumpsuit however that might be because of the aesthetic nature of the Min Light.
