Why is it that dropships don't explode in the air once they run out of hit points? Tanks explode. LAVs explode. Even the MCC explodes. Why is the dropship special?
Yes, it explodes when it hits the ground, but that gives pilots plenty of time to jump out, right?
Just something I noticed last night as we took down a couple dropships.
Happy Gaming!!! |

It would be enjoyable to see mercs jumping out of dropships once they took damage, like many, many, many tankers out there. |

I would love to see that, mostly because there's a high probability that the ship roadkills the pilot as he bails
Now that would be perfect! |

Did you mean "Shrubbery"?
GÇ£First you must find... another shrubbery! Then, when you have found the shrubbery, you must place it here, beside this shrubbery, only slightly higher so you get a two layer effect with a little path running down the middle. ("A path! A path!") Then, you must cut down the mightiest tree in the forrest... with... a herring!GÇ¥ |

The thread went a little sideways. I blame Ripley.
I just wanted to know why dropships are special. I want them to explode in the air, and then watch the burning wreckage fall to the ground and explode again. And I want the wreckage to stay there, forever ingrained on that map. Then I want to be able to buy roses from the market for 10,000 AUR, at which point I can activate them like a piece of equipment and place them next to the charred wreckage.
The best part is that "Kiss From a Rose" automatically plays in the background as you place the flowers on the ground.
I don't think this is unreasonable. |

Happy Gaming!!! Tanks explode because they are hard to kill. Being Amor tanked and harderd, lav are fast and can dough swarms with sharpe bends . But dropshot can be be easily spotted and can be heared in the air . Being that theres no much cover apart from large building which is no always the case when I fly. I find it amusing that that when I kill a dropship That it lands on on res berry and he got a road kill =ƒÿâ. But I don't see why people are on about this, for example saying a plane got shoot down in real life , would it disappear or crash land?
Depends on what hit the plane. If hit with minor damage, some planes would burn until they hit the ground, and then they would explode. However, if a plane took enough damage in the air, it would explode and a million tiny pieces would rain down.
I want to see the rain! |

I don't think this is unreasonable. Why is this not already in game? CCP FIX YOUR GAME!
That's what I"m saying. I mean, how can you not have this?
Now that I've put it out there, I don't know if I can play any more without this feature. |

Then let's have "Deathstar" quality major explosions that can't be ignored! Then you will see everyone running around with forges the entire game, addicted to the awesomeness that is DS death. |

Well, aren't we all getting a little feisty.
I can't count how many zigs and zags this conversation has taken, but I find it all pretty interesting.
Just to respond to multiple posts at once:
1. I never said anything about locking anyone into their seat. To me, that's crazy. All I want to know is why do DS pilots have some special "holy Moses, the ship is going down...I better jump out to save my blueprint suit" extra time. It doesn't make sense. If you take too much damage, you explode and you're dead. End of story.
2. This whole tank discussion is easily solved. Let me preface this by saying I have a 22mil alt that is a tanker, and I love tanking. However, tanks are OP. The only thing that needs to be done is to nerf or eliminate fuel injectors. That's it. This little change will make maneuverable shield tanks more relevant; plus, it will make slow--so freakin' tough to turn--armor tanks have to make very calculated decisions on where to engage. I could see a need to adjust prices of tank fittings if this happened, though.
You people wear me out. I'm going to bed. Happy Gaming, you weirdos!!! |
