response to the PS4 post.
I don't want to master race but it is the best and will be the best gaming machine you will ever own, no regrets.
PC gaming as a whole is much cheaper than console gaming Console-equivalent PC hardware is cheaper (same performance for less money, more performance for the same money, or much more performance for a bit more money). PCs have the freedom to upgrade whenever YOU decide to, not when Sony or Microsoft decide to. PCs easily work with TVs and monitors, and even multiple of each. PCs can play nearly every old console game ever made, through emulators, at higher graphical details, with whatever controller you want to use... for free. PCs can use nearly every console controller ever made, modern ones (PS3/PS4/X360/XO) work without even needing a USB adapter. PC games offer a clearer image thanks to native resolution, console games don't allow resolution adjustments to properly fit the display like PC games do. Gaming services and "social services" on the PC are completely free, even with online play (Steam, Galaxy, Desura, Mumble, etc) Gaming services on the PC offer more functionality than what you pay for on a console PCs have better better multiplayer support (LAN, 16x local multiplayer on the same machine with softXpand) Using a modern budget GPU yields around 60 frames per second during gameplay with recent game releases. Consoles can barely reach 30FPS most of the time. Not only can PC's be used for education, entertainment, gaming, and content creation... they're the best at all of these things. Faster and cheaper than a PS4 or XBox One, even for $400 More exclusives than all the current-gen consoles combined PC gaming as a whole is much cheaper than console gaming Console-equivalent PC hardware is cheaper (same performance for less money, more performance for the same money, or much more performance for a bit more money). That alone makes it cheaper than a console.

What you need to realise is some people dont care. I have a gaming PC (~-ú2000) but rarely use it because I prefer console which is what I'm more comfortable with. That won't change.
And I have pretty much every relevent console in the last 10 years, and still prefer them to the PC. Not because of specs, but because its much more fun and simpler to me.

My current setup is PC + Nintendo ****, along with PS3 for Dust until it moves to PC. If it's not on PC and it's worth getting, it's because it's nintendo exclusive.

There's a big difference in potential optimisation between consoles and PCs; console optimisation can get right down to the metal in a way that PC optimisation just can't; that modularity is actually a disadvantage in that sense.
I'll not dispute that the parts in the PS4 are individually inferior (by a LONG way) to those that you can get in a PC, but for 400$ (plus the cost of your MKB; admittedly that's like twenty bucks but the controller's in the box with the PS4) the consoles will be outperforming on cross-platform games.
On top of that, with a PC (especially one you're building) comes compatibility, virus vulnerability, (and in gaming terms) bots, hackers, etc.
It's disingenuous to suggest that PCs are adequate competition to consoles at their price-point.
It's also worth pointing out that I'm posting this from my $1500 gaming PC.
Nobody panic! My 'like' button is fixed!

You can post about the benefits of PCs all you want, but the fact remains that this was released as a console game like they said they intended it to be back in 2009, built up a community of console players, and moving the game to the PC would leave a large number of them behind.
No matter how you spin it, that sucks.

Good point, I just skimmed, noticed no SSD and no liquid cooling and immediately my brain began two thumbs down with raspberries.
Since I have been building my own, I haven't not included liquid cooling (just corsair prefabs, nothing fancy) and since SSD have been getting cheaper, I've included them in the past two builds I've done.
If I had some extra cash laying around, I'd pursue a custom build liquid cool (for both GPUs, RAM, CPU and SSD)

I would like to see it ported to PC, mainly because I'd also get to play EVE: Online.

But dem Playstation Exclusives tho. I'm a console gamer at heart(specifically Playstation), it is what I grew up with and what I do.
Even though PC is clearly the best choice, people will still buy consoles for one damn reason... Simplicity. The ability to shop for one console and know it will work for the 7 plus years, being able to pop in a game and play immediately. Doubt many PCs from 2005 could produce a game like Last of Us without any modifications.

Any FPS on a PC is just bleh... Not to mention all the shady hackers that come with the pitfalls on the FPS/PC Platform. Any real FPS won't touch the PC for this very reason. It's not respectable gaming.
