Right now there are whiny scrubs complaining about what rifle is better, and their rifle sucks and they can't get kills. CCP sincerely your rifles are fine. They each have purpose and are all great if used correctly. People complain about scrambler because the tac can be fired ridiculously fast and that's true, I do it. But so can the ion pistol, the CR fires faster than I could ever dream. People complain about CR being too strong, rails seemingly have extra range, or that the CR has no rhythm so it doesn't fire well. It's all about learning your weapon and making good intelligent decisions on who to engage and who to run the **** away from. Use your head and stop whining that rifles are op.
You people complain that CCP never gets anything done, it's because you don't let them. CCP, Work on vehicles, get everything here, fix what you make a mistake on, and stop shadow buffing and shadow nerfing things because people complain. It's fine. Just leave it. |

You know which rifle never gets mention as OP? The AR ;p
Seriously though, balance is always needed. Each rifle is meant to work better then the other in designated roles and distances. When a rifle performs outside that role it is either OP or the other rifle is UP. Also, people using modded controllers throw everything into chaos, because you now have to consider people abusing a weapon(which completely ruins it for everybody who doesn't use a modded control)
Edit:Oh and just to be clear, when I say OP and UP I mean OverPerforming and UnderPerforming in said roles and not just outright OverPowered/UnderPowered.

The AR does seem to not perform as well as it should. However, tac AR is great and we just had a 'burst' of attention to the burst AR. So in a way... it does work. It all depends on personal preference. But CCP cannot let the statistics be marred because of the people that use the modded controllers. That's a flaw in the numbers but such anomalies are detectable by math, also I may be watching too much of the show "Numb3rs". It's freaking awesome. |

The Assault Scrambler Rifle has more range and DPS than an equivalent AR. It reloads faster and performs generally better at range than an AR due to better accuracy attributes. On an Amarr Assault the weapon can effectively be fired without worrying about heat since nearly every shot in the magazine can be emptied before it overheads.

yeh , if it don't overheat from rapid firing an entire clip , something not right. Did not know that was like that. |

The issue with the AScR is that it's difficult to judge how much heat is balanced: in a 1v1 fight, the AScR has a lot of power, but in multiple, consecutive 1v1's, or a large firefight, the heat becomes a big issue.
If anything, I would say increase heat build up, slightly, and simultaneously increase the cooldown speed (that is, it cools down faster - currently it takes 6.75s to fully cooldown with max skills) so that it can be harder to use (because managing the heat is tougher) but less punishing at the same time (cooling down is faster.)

It would be fine if the gun had less DPS like it use to, but after the insane buff it recently received, it has both more DPS and Range.

It is everything but "fine" But that's just it isn't it? They created a role. A class. The amarr is the only race to use it to its full effect. The AR had impeccable ads accuracy. Half a clip uninterrupted fire with no kick? That's amazing. The AScR has mega kick, higher damage, but overheats really fast. But when in the hands of a skilled user it becomes a force to be reckoned with, even more so if that user is an amarr. If you think it's so deadly spend your points to use it. But the weapon is only effective if you can use it right. |

Tactical scrambler melts shields as it is, the post buff Assault Scram absolutely evaporates shields now.... Listen, I'm an amarr. I use tactical scrambler. I absolutely hate the assault, you know why? Because anyone that has any skill whatsoever could use the tac for 200% if not more effectiveness. I fire my tac faster than the assault could ever fire. I have more damage, and can almost fire a whole clip because I used my hard earned points to specific it's racial suit to use it in its greatest form. The fact that you chose a different shield weapon that has a very similar tac weapon that has more ammo in the clip, slightly slower RoF, and slightly less damage but choose not to use it, NOR use the effectiveness gained by using a SIDEARM to do damage as well, is not my fault. The tac AR has more opportunity to be devastating than the ScR because it has more in the clip. You know how they countered my damage and kill time? Heat build up. I reload faster because I have to reload more often. I have more ammo because I must use more ammo per kill. It's simple math. Stop letting the fact that you're disgruntled blind you and step back, look at racial bonuses and think, "Why would this be made this way?" And it will all make sense. |

The AScR seems to be the only light weapon IMO that needs tweaking(lower damage and increase heat build up). I think we are close to achieving the point where players will choose weapons based on preference and not what is "good"... Hopefully once these problems are solved we can focus on adding varients(AV Laser Rifle, Tac RR etc.)

Hopefully once these problems are solved we can focus on adding varients(AV Laser Rifle, Tac RR etc.) Okay, I need to convey a thought of you. First, the AScR is not that great. I've covered that. Two, AV laser rifle....? No, that's very stupid. And a tac RR...? Do I need to say it again? There does NOT NEED TO BE EVERY SINGLE VARIANT OF RIFLE FOR EVERY WEAPON!!!! The only reason the AR has them is because it was the only rifle back in the day. Every single person spec'd into it if they had a brain. It was super awesome. So when they added the other rifles and there were no re-specs and they were not giving us any more full re-specs we could see from our points already what they would generally be like, because at the time proficiency was only for damage or range or bullet spread or kick, and not damage. And because it always has been and always will be the first rifle ccp had or made. There should never be variants of all weapons. |

Well, ok, but I'm not comparing a Tac to an Assault, Im comparing Assault to Assault. The point I'm making is that operationally and mathematically, the Assault Scrambler is superior to the AR in basically every way. That's a problem. Oh also, even without the Amarr Assault, the Assault Scrambler will output about the same amount of damage before overheating as the AR does before it needs to reload.
The performance of the Tac variants is not even part of that. Stop changing the subject to something else.

I'm used to people complaining about the tac. Sorry. Agreed, the AR should always be far better than any assault VARIANT weapon. Because it came first. And the AScR is pretty good but the kick makes it harder to use. But again, kinda changing the subject, Why not dog on the RR? It is also far better than the AR in straightforward damage...?? |

The ARR's damage isn't that bad, its more the extreme differences in range that I tend to have issues with.
Assault Rail Rifle vs Assault Rifle
123% Damage Per Bullet 75% Fire Rate 92% DPS 83% Magazine Size 102% Damage per Magazine 120% Reserve Ammo 107% Reload Time 180% Optimal Range 138% Effective Range
In that case its really the range that is the outlier. Trading -8% DPS for +80% range is ....a little insane.

However, heat is an issue on non- AmSault issues, so nerfing heat will make it only viable on the AmSault, which I wouldn't like very much.

It is everything but "fine"
the Assault SCR has a cooldown time of 5.9 seconds without overheat, that's double the reload time of the AR.
Reload time for ASCR should not be compared with other weapons.

It's fine. Just leave it. damn scrambler rifles are op here and there spec with the Protos
I'll stick with the good ol CR
NERF THE RE'S Gallente logi ftw
