I've been playing for a bit but am stumped. I hate getting the 10 or so deaths when I run as infantry and the 4-6 deaths when trying to run as a tank (can't pilot dropships so I don't bother with them). So I've decided to turn to these forums for help.
I don't know how to keep my deaths low but also aid my team. This is what I've tried (as far as weapons and type):
Militia Assault Scrambler Rifle, Militia Minmatar Medium Armor, uplinks (did ok, still about 6-15 deaths)
Sniper rifle, uplink, Militia Min Light (can't keep targets in sight)
Forge gun, Militia Min heavy (get better k/d ratio with a typical 6/8)
Militia heavy gun, Mil Min heavy (decent with I think, just die before I can get in range and cover)
I have tried all the militia weapons and those four are what I've noticed I do ok with. My playstyle is that I like playing somekind of field support.
Tested supports:
Sniper Tank- haven't figured out how to more accurately hit infantry and get slammed by swarms
Infantry Tank- overwhelmed in tank v tank fight, swarm problem
Medic- seem to die before being able to reach downed teammate
The vehicles I seem to do ok with are:
HAVs- I can control them pretty good (if I couldn't that would be sad lol), can keep track of targets ok, swarms lay me out
LAVs- still working on control, outmanuever enemy vehicles & installations, swarms typically miss me, usually get terrible gunners
Vehicles I'm terrible with:
Dropships- Can't control them (even with the how to video I saw on youtube)
If anyone can give me some pointers or tips it would be greatly appreciative.
To further showcase my style: on most other shooter games, I usually use an lmg like the Saw. I like to kind of act as a suppression fire soldier.

What advantages and disadvantages does the Militia Caldari Heavy Suit have over the Militia Minmatar Suit?
(Been running Minmatar because of the whole former slaves that freed themselves, I like rebels lol)
But mentioning Caldari, I used to run one but terminated it because of skill mess up (which I did again with Minmatar). But I did notice that I survived better with Caldari, why though? I do the same thing on both but died less as a Caldari than with Minmatar. |

Yea, I did read that the Minmatar suits had ok armor and ok shield, Caldari had low armor high shield, and Amarr had high armor and low shield (did some reading :))
But yea, kinda dumped some skills in heavy and medium (accidentally put some in Gall light, game got goofy when that happened). But thanks for the help, I'll try that out on my Militia Minmatar Heavy (have 40 suits of it). |

Thank you for the advise. I did notice I'm better in Caldari armor. Had thought of terminating my Minmatar (made some mistakes with skills) but since I'm in a corp I didn't think it would be fair to terminate my character. |
